Volvo XC60 107000 kms, 7 years, treated as own child and this year started to show being a very problematic car, fissure in one cylinder so change whole engine (13500€, no brand or wholesale sales support at all), 1500 kms later a fisure in one air tube (600€), 5000km later clutch problem(I’m waiting for the invoice)… definitely not a brand to rely on anymore.

I'm looking at a one owner, no accident, 2015 Volvo XC60, T-5, 4 cyl, turbo for $12,000. It has 163 k miles. Should I pass? BTW: My Chevy Astro Vans and Safari vans lasted over 320K. So did my Toyotas.

That’s high mileage for a Volvo T 5 at that age. Cheap price but mileage is why. Check it’s got full service history from Volvo or equivalent workshop history and that it’s been looked after. It will probably be ok but you can expect the turbo to wear out, the suspension to wear or be worn abs the auto gearbox will need servicing if it hasn’t been already and if that goes wrong it can cost a few thousand to fix. Good cars overall though.
