I lost track because all of the 80 s I was backstage almost all of the 80 s I think I found a ticket stub from 89 ! So I know it’s been a lot because I used to hitchhike to some of the shows close by to Maine ! I have so many that I have lost track of how many but I do know it was over a 100 at least !

What a great summer. Spent the summer in Berkeley after freshman year of college back east. This show, JGB at the Greek, Laguna Seca, Eugene, so great. The Dead out West was better; it really was.

Those shows were amazing. I didn’t have a ticket to get in the theater itself, but they set up huge speakers and the tennis courts and you could just dance for free. It was amazing! I also remember they were simulcasting the concert on a local radio station KPFA. Nothing like those Northern California Grateful Dead shows!

I am the 450th person to like this......I LOVE THIS SHOW......I was born in CA .....All 3 times I saw this band was in CA.....I think it has a beautiful magical feeling to it...the giant Pacific Ocean, the desert, semi desert foothills , Redwood forests and Sierra mountains, etc......all in the same state...Now I live in south France....which looks a lot like northern CA to me .....

That's better than when the doses are so good that you heard the most intense magical music but received tapes later and the tapes seem like the music is from an entirely different show. I don't mean bad but what you heard wasn't in the recordings. On a different note if I have surgery and between anesthesia and scolpomine patches, I've heard Dead shows or Beatles albums come through a blowing fan or a November storm blowing out on Lake Superior. I turn the fan off, music stops, turn it on and starts again. The November storm occasion that I'm thinking of might've been acid induced.

Tell me if I'm mistaken. This was the Friday night there was a riot outside. The band put speakers outside for the heads that could not be inside. The Berkeley police went on the offense. Inside the show everybody got dosed. The band made a announcement Saturday to respect peoples choice to dose or not. They played Saturday Night Alright for Fight before the show started.

This was my first Greek show, on Deadvacation and lots of friends were there. But where is the first set? If there was one of all the shows I saw I’m dying to relive with video, it’s this one. The Shakedown was an amazing introduction to the dead at the Greek. But oddly enough, I wanna watch Jerry jamming that Dire Wolf. Yeah that’s even odd to me, but DW knocked my sandals off. Please? Yeah! It’s WAAAY up there… Idk quite enough about chord theory etc to fully understand the potential for full flight that the Scarlet/ Fire transition allows, but this is a serious example of the inherent magic of the transition and the potential of a relatively simple and repetitive song like Fire , in the hands of the pros. This is friggin’ hot! Greek was magic always, I imagine. I saw a couple there.🙏Def. a great time to be alive. And really what song is more fun than Women R Smarter to follow?( it’s a short list( I have my theories about their top 5 FUN songs , but I always write too much🙄🤷🏻… y’all have that figured out, anyway😏)
