The original MR2 at the workshop, Thomas's 'Crazy frog' is back, and in the time it took me to go get our lunch, he'd fitted a new engine to it lol.

Swapped a VR6 into my Fiat X1/9. There were no issues with handling. With the fuel cell moving to the front, the weight distribution is closer to 50/50. Access is better than the OEM engine, though I cut the trunk out. My teammates were initially skeptical about the swap but after our first race they were all about the VR6. It also sounds badass and has torque all over the range. Bulletproof engines too, which is what I was after since we're doing endurance racing in it.

There was a Fiat X1/9 at the garage next door recently with a Uno Turbo engine in it, I love those cars, and a VR one must be awesome. Good info, thanks!

Love this! The original 12v VR6 and the following VR's were made to fit in a compact front wheel drive VW. Very small engine bay with transverse mounting. VR swap the world!

I can vouch for that VR6 weight. Pulled engine/trans/ecu out of a B7 Passat today. that combined weight is nuts.

Finally, a VR6 swap, congratulations, if you dont already feel like Neil Armstrong stepping onto the moon surface you will on the first test drive. It will be hard to go back to anything less than a VRT once it gets you into its grip. Have fun, stay safe, and Keep Rolling.......

This is what I like about mine. Its not just thrown in after a pissed night out like some engine conversions ive seen recently. Whole engine on the piss rubbing against bonnet and stuff 😂. Thomas just gets it right from the off. Its level and workable gbox off etc neat and tidy.

I love the wildness of the experiments. VR6 fitting that easily is wild! I must say I’m still a sucker for a 5 banger but you guys are doing great things, arguably better, with far less modification, and cheaper.

24:55 I already had the idea. Techno Pro Spirits had the ITB trumpets inside the car on his 2ZZ swap, imagine a VR6. Or a 5 for that matter. Because lets be honest the 5/6 sounds better than a 1.8t

Lots of extra work for the same power or less than a lighter mildly tuned 1.8T though. As cool as it would be, you gotta be mega committed to noise for that.

We absolutely need the swap kit for a VR6/0M2 or VR6/DSG swap! How's the wiring? About the same as the 1.8t?

Wiring is practically identical to the 1.8T. Shafts are same. Mounts are different but we’ve designed them and they’re good to go

Gents have you released prices for the kit for the 1.8 T and V5 and VR6 and R32 as yet please As I have Turismo Avalanche GT and looking for a conversion like this to complement the car

1.8T kit is complete and detailed price list is out there yes. VR kits in progress so no prices yet
