Okay! I have the worst time with “ah” and have been using your videos to help, and they’re helping so much! I thought I had struggles with “eh”, but turns out my “eh” is smooth and resonant… I have a trouble with “a”.. like in “black” or “back”. It’s especially glaring when I sing “Back to Black” by Amy Winehouse. I’m looking through your videos but haven’t stumbled upon one yet for this sound 👀 please link me if you’ve made one already!!

I recently subscribed a few weeks ago and I bought your program. You're a great teacher and I appreciate the affordable price. Question: do you have any videos on mucus interfering with vocals and how to overcome that?
@Victoria-Victorious3 жыл бұрын
If your mucus gets worse with singing, it could be a sign of irritation from constriction ( what I call singing on the squeeze). I have lots of videos on this in this playlist: Throat, Tongue, Jaw & Neck Tension in Singing - Free up Your Voice! kzbin.info/aero/PLaWjWxiTysDDDSGygoVWRk_IfZeFI71aj. I would work on finding the source of the mucus, whether it is allergies, poor hydration, tight throat, etc.

I'm a beginner. When I sing with a performer, my pitch is fine. I can match the performer and sound okay. When I sing with an instrumental track, I sound a little flat and dull in spots. The overall experience is much different.
@Victoria-Victorious3 жыл бұрын
It’s okay. This is part of training. Record yourself in small sections of your song with accompaniment track and work section by section.

I would do spoken sirens every day, even for a few minutes, to stretch your range. I show how to do them in a lot of my videos. Don't push and shout as you get higher. See my Beginner playlist. Also, I have another video coming out on Saturday for beginners.
