Do you need to use new bolts for the crankshaft? Does it matter?

My machine shop that did the cylinder honing cleaned and painted it.

Hello Van how did you remember which fasteners go where. Any chance you know where to get diagram or specifications on that?

It just takes counting and measuring - and making sure every fastener has 1-2x diameter of thread engagement. E.g. if it's an M6 bolt, expect it to have 8-10mm of thread engagement.

I noticed the angle indicator was also possibly measuring the movement and flex of the engine stand. Does that device account for that? Also, I’m bringing my 944 over. ;-)

Yes, there is a little flex in the stand... I try to pre-load the breaker bar enough before resetting to zero, but it still might be a degree or two off. But that should be within tolerance. :)
