A good friend of mine owns this DC5 racecar. 300WHP all motor, built K20/K24, ITB's, VTEC killer cams and much more... All work done in-house by AM Racing Engines. Currently races in the FARA Racing Series.

Hey just curious, what are the benefits of putting a k20 head on a k24 block?

I always wanted to know that myself...I even began to speculate, outside of the increased engine displacement i suppose it handles the pressure better than it's k20 counterpart... but i'm not sure.. just my pov.

The air cavity in a K20a is better than k24 head.

According to my research the K24A3 (or the K24A in Japan and K24A2 in the US) doesn't really benefit much from it since they already flow good and have plenty of material for porting. However all other K24 engines have heads that aren't worth doing work to for a build like this. It's sometimes cheaper and/or easier to get a random K24 bottom end and a good K20 head if you're gonna be swapping internals anyway than to start with a K24A3

k24 only came with vtec on the intake cam so you get vtec on both and a higher compression ratio

If you have individual ports for intakes do you need a manifold?

No, the “manifold” comprises of each throttle body and a rod linking them together using the throttle cable, some variants have a removable cover to use a standard intake, but I don’t think they exist for the K series

Is it expensive gettimg to 300hp ? . I had seen a video whete the gst a stock K24A2 amd just pit a set of drag cartel cams in it and hey presto and of course the oil pump swap .
