It's well worth it! I'll definitely do a more in-depth on each screen in the future. Stick with it. Learn one system at a time, and it'll be easier. I focused only on flying and AIM-120 missiles for the few 5-10 hours of this game. Then I learned AIM-9 missiles. Then I started picking one weapon at a time to spend 5-10 hours on. The good news is, a lot of weapons are the same for each aircraft, so once you learn them, you sort of learn them for every jet!

It’s just a warning system for radars that ping you. Your own radar is located on a different instrument.

hello and thanks a lot for the informative guide i have one question though, if i'm jamming a radar through the TSD, should it not disappear on the rwr display? since it got jammed and can't scan properly

That’s a solid question. I think that’s more of a game modeling issues

Jamming a radar doesn't turn it off, you still get pinged but you send back scatter instead of clean airplane outlines

Right now I think the quest 3 is the best headset for the price. I have used the pimax 8x, pimax crystal, quest 2 and quest 3 and I find myself using the quest 3 the most out of all of those. And you can use it for standalone games off the meta store as well as pcvr off of steam.

You’re pretty safe botching everything except active missiles. I’m not sure what the exact radar implementations are in VTOL. Evasion techniques coming soon!

Yes as long as you have a backdrop. The radar system in Vtol is actually very advanced.

@@porkins93 hmm in real life I’m pretty sure as long as you fly perpendicular to the enemy’s radar, you will be filtered out. Could be wrong though! Radars are complicated.

@Swaggyswisscheez you need a backdrop like a mountain or even the ocean. This way the radar confuses you for the backdrop because you aren't getting closer or further away. Without the backdrop you will be the only thing sending waves back to the missiles radar and it can see you anyway. With the backdrop the missile thinks you are the backdrop. Doppler effect stuff.

@@porkins93 I’m not sure you need a backdrop. As long as you are flying perpendicular, you will be filtered out and not shown on the radar. This is cuz it’ll trick the radar into thinking you’re a non moving object.
