I have seen videos with people changing the belt without even messing with the pin you are talking about. In general which is easier, opinions?

It's iritating, but do-able without pinning it. I like pinning personally.

Hey, wht year is your car ? Having trouble finding parts for the motor with the power steering pump at the top of the motor. Most engines have the power steering pump at the bottom

that shit was hard as fuck! i tried everything and the only thing that worked was to take off the second tensioner, and then use a breaker bar with a 15mm wrench to pull the tensioner WAY back and slipped the belt over the tensioner pulley. 2009 volkswagen beetle 2.5l
