VW aircooled classic Beetle suspension beam installation

Your a brave man driving out those inner phenolic bushings! I wanted to replace the inner bushings in my type 2 but was told by Nate of Wagenswest not to touch them as replacements are not available. I used an inspection camera to verify no excessive wear damage. Nate told me to swap suspension arms from left to right and right to left to even put the arm wear and bushing wear. That said, the way you drove out the bushings was very clever!

Hahaha brave or stupid??!!! I have to say it wasn't my idea but I had heard about the method from somewhere so I thought why not give it a try. I have previously just cut the beams in half and welded in adjusters so was fun to try something different. Thanks for commenting. Jamie
