I think your English is actually very good! Zero trouble understanding you. This video was great, our e-Up is being shipped to us now so this was a great way of seeing how it'll fare around our local city of Leicester.

I’ve listened to you a lot (I’m from the UK) and after your comment thought I’d say that your English is completely fine. Very clear. Very easy to listen too. 🙂

As an aside, I have a petrol Up! and am looking at this e Up! as a replacement. These videos have been very helpful. The longest journey we tend to do is 230 miles (368 km and not even yearly) and I’d even take one on that journey after seeing your videos as would only need to stop once. We do that anyway for an hour around half way for lunch and toilet break etc so even with its charging speed that would be ok for those journeys. I know I’d need to drive at around 60mph (100km) but I do that on long journeys with my ICE Up! Thanks Chris. Sounds like the Up! Would be a reasonable entrance to the EV car market.

Grüss Gott - terveisiä Suomesta - while I received my e-Mii on 18th feruary - I did not have to watch your review to see how my car is. But it was in my FB feed - so I started watching it. And from very beginning I liked your VERY HUMAN touch. Unlike so many others - you act like a normal person without need to prove something. So I watched it all the way to the end.

Blinker noise seems extremely loud on KZbin in this video on eUp. So all of the people complaining about thr loud noise of the ID.3 is because they have only ever heard it on KZbin! Great video again.

cruise control in steps less than 10 is possible - check the manual cause I had used it in the e-Golf ... but only once and since then I adopted 10 km / h. CamCorder might have a different pricing cause "copymachine" are the cash cow for the author rights organisation in germany / gema ... I guess. Each device has a fee in its price depending on its usage and same for materials ... like audio tapes for example. Thats whay cassettes in germany had been a lot more expensive than in the netherlands .... back in the eighties ...and recordable dvd or cd have also that fee in its prices ....Therefore the 30 min shut off as a reminder of gema nightmare.

What driving mode were you using? D or B? Edit: I see the display says B - you should try driving in D some. It can be be more efficient, because you can coast. The heater uses more power when it is colder outside, and less when it is warmer. The aero drag is about 50% of the load on the drivetrain at only 28-30MPH / 45-48kph, in a typical car.
@BatteryLife4 жыл бұрын
Normal mode. Eco doesn't make any difference here. I love regen. Especially in the city!
@NeilBlanchard4 жыл бұрын
@@BatteryLife It depends - your city is pretty gentle, with not a whole lot of stop and go. In a big urban city where the longest stretch you can drive without stopping is one block (if that!), then yes driving in B is helpful. But I have been driving electric cars for over 6 years (we currently have 3, and have had 2 others during that time), and coasting in D w/o regen on the accelerator pedal, gets you into a habit of coasting - it just comes naturally. So, you accelerate LESS, then coast, and if you need to slow down / stop, then you get regen on the brake pedal. Just because you don't have regen on the accelerator, doesn't mean you are "missing" getting energy back in the battery. Quite the opposite - you leave more energy IN the battery, and you waste less. Coasting uses MORE of the kinetic energy of the moving car, than does regen. Regen by definition, loses some energy - in other words, regen is not a magic bullet. If you accelerate a lot, then you are always going to lose energy when you slow down. Obviously, regen is much better than friction brakes, but it cannot "save" energy - you only LOSE LESS energy.

@@BatteryLife makes sense...I am hoping that maybe because they did hardware production and are pending software updates they can do some also virtually but it's hard to imagine few weeks of shut down will not impact.

I think the EU will give carmakers a few months more for the CO2 goals, and then VW will take those months to work on the software.

By scheduling the charge the 80% at 6.30 in the morning, is the car finishing the charging at the requested hour? Or is the charging starting as soon as you plug in and stops at the desired SOC?
@BatteryLife4 жыл бұрын
80% is reached at that time. No chsrging right away when you plug in.
@Alex-qx7jn4 жыл бұрын
You can set it up like: "when I plug it in, charge up to X% (in case I have low battery and I want the car for emergency), then have it charged it to Y% until 8AM. " Separate setting, you can set it up to charge during night hours for lower electricity cost.
@wermagst4 жыл бұрын
7:00 You can set the drive train to just D (Segeln), then it will only regen when you step on the brake. D -> D1 -> D2 -> D3 -> B
@BatteryLife4 жыл бұрын
I know, but I prefer B. One pedal driving. Adjust regen with one pedal.

@@BatteryLife You literally said: "It's never no regen". It is, if you put it in D (D0 on the old e-up)

If the top speed is 135, why is the speedometer showing 160. Surely better to show 140, so it would be more accurate.

But one big draw is the crazy VW subscription model that the crappy app is a service you have to pay - after the first year for free. They offer not much, servers had issues in the past like unavailable with results like car is cold. again, the e-up is too expensive if you ever get an e-golf you can get for less than 20.000€ after BaFa refund. Check the options you want and compare it with all the stuff inside like LED light and all the intelligent options. LED lights and huge display, electric mirrors and so on. If you take your time you will end up with a tiny difference but you get a lot more quality like seats, interier material, wider car especially important for families and 3 persons on the rear seats, bigger trunk of cause and a great car overall. Most important: if the car gets 5 year old guess what car has the higher price in used car market? The e-Golf will then bring back the 1000€ or so you paid more when purchasing. On e-Golf you get dam high rebates on list price and e-up offers are limited cause NEW CAR high demand, too low production.
@sevnpicoferro53524 жыл бұрын
The difference for the e-Golf is not 1000 bucks, but around 4000-5000. Buying the e-Up for 16.000€ in Germany is s good deal, because you can nowhere buy only a battery of 36,8kWh for that money.
@user-em5xk9sw2g4 жыл бұрын
Is the subscription on the eUP also for only one year? In our citigo the license in the App says free until 2030. I wasn't planning on leasing it more than 4 years... So...
