Before you put the sliding door cover on its handy to take off the bung for would be the sliding door motor and seal it with tiger seal or the like as the foam seal perishes and lets in water.

Dan Chambers yeah they dont last long and any heavy rain the water seeps in so if you do get a damp patch in that corner then at least you know where its coming from,mines a 14 plate and seal looked ok but was leaking in heavy rain...keep up the good work 👍

Thank you for watching! The shock kit is OK for a budget shock kit. As with anything, by the best you can afford. Go for the lowest kit you can afford as having the shocks set to a higher setting will give a better ride than a not so low kit set to the lowest.

@@DanChambersDAC that may be the case but when it comes to plastic if you can't guarantee the paint will stick, best to use the plastic primer. Also old plastic parts tend to have been coated in back to black kinda stuff resulting in contamination!

the reason ur satin black is not taking very well on the bumpers is because you need use plastic primer before the satin black goes on. this will only flake in time otherwise

Boiled linseed oil works well on the black bumpers. Mine was really faded and good rub with it brought it back to nice black.

Decent job mate least you stripped it all… in regards to the bumpers you need to apply plastic primer(adhesion promoter)before regular primer as nothing sticks to plastic without that. Also you need to plastic prep wipe not regular panel wipe for plastic as it’s pouris and sucks any liquid in.. water and soap is also a big no for bare plastic. Cheerz for vid

I have my own body and paint shop and any plastic parts are a nightmare to paint at the best of times.. heavily textured the transporter bumpers aswell usualy sand them all down smooth with 180 grit first then plastic prime and normal prime then colour wet on wet.. turn out really nice..

Really nice job Dan, maybe a previous owner used a load of back to black or similar silicone trim revitaliser on some of the plastic trims, hence it doesn’t want to take paint... a mistake I made myself recently! Also you mentioned the company that did seat covers, can you mention them again when you do the interior video please?

Thank you for watching! Yes I think that is what may have happened. I did clean it with a de greaser cleaner twice but it appears to have not removed all of the product. I am going to strip back and try again this week. The seat covers are form Transporter HQ, Quality seat covers, I used them in my last van build.

Im a massive fan of the amarok steels look, tamars is the best place for them too 👌. Got a lwb shuttle, but we have 4 kids and a dog, so seats are needed, going for a pop top / people carrier / camper hybrid. Some great vids here !! tempted to get a builders van as well now 😂
