How to Cancel From a Closed Stance | Taekwondo Sparring Tips

Last week, we showed you three ways to cancel from an open guarding stance. This week, we're showing you how to cancel kicks from closed guarding stance. While this technique may not be used quite as much since it's easier to cancel from an open stance, it's important to be ready for any scenario. Canceling? We use to call this in the old days , checking the other personings kick, with your kick , like what your showing in video, But I thought this was not allowed any more in TKD com?????

@@jctxcboy36 flop kick is just a variation of roundhouse kick. Because it shares many same points as roundhouse kick, so if it is banned, the roundhouse kick somehow is affected.

@@empwron1 I agree....I run a sparring team here in Colorado and we are competing in a tournament in a few weeks and just making sure that I am up to speed on any new rule changes. Use your videos alot for training for Olympic Sparring Techniques. Love the the cancel kick streams....very helpful!

@@jctxcboy36 might be that your sparring coach is telling you not to wave your foot with multiple flop kicks since they changed the rules on how many kicks you’re allowed to do before having to put your leg down. Flop kick itself isn’t banned (monkey and fish kicks are though).
