I love that everything you do is so intentional. Nothing is wasted. It's like an illustration of Isaiah when he writes, " For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there until they have watered the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Sara, thank you. At 14:45 your voice became very soft as you described how you changed your perspective and went from "I have to" to "I get to". I'm glad you didn't stop with just one or two examples, but kept going on with more examples of your duties being a privilege instead of a chore. It's hard to explain, but it was as if God was stroking me through your voice, encouraging me to look at my many burdens as gifts from Him and opportunities to show my love for Him. Your humility helped me to humble myself and receive my tasks as a blessing from God. So - - - tomorrow I *get* to go to work and serve my students and I *get* to come home and serve my family. That changes everything. Thank you Sara.

Your change of mindset from "I have to" to "I get to" is extremely moving and goes far further from just a religious obligation. We all should remind ourselves more often that the most of the things we take for granted and sometimes even annoying could be, indeed, something that other people cannot afford for several different reasons. It's also a good way to exercise gratitude and empathy for what one has/interacts with.

My mom used to say her favorite time of day was very early in the morning before my dad , my siblings & I got up for the day. She could drink her coffee and read her affirmations for the day and spend time meditating on it. When she began losing her sight, losing the ability to read her affirmations and her Bible, hit her almost as hard it was to not being able to see the faces of her loved ones. I, fortunately , was able to find her daily affirmations subscription in audio form for her. Even after the series of strokes affected her memory and left her confused, listening to the Word of God seemed to calm her. Mom passed away, peacefully in her sleep, a few months ago at the age of 90. To clarify, she began losing her sight due to macular degeneration, many years before her first stroke. She had her first stroke right around the time of the Covid quarantine started

I love the Psalms Sara. There is a Psalm for whatever I am experiencing. For me, saying them out loud helps me focus on the words and the meaning. I have a doggy that I take out early in the morning and late at night. I live in a rural area and so I can often see a beautiful starry sky. When I look up, I am often reminded of this portion from Psalm 8 and my heart is filled with gratitude: When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, 4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?[c] 5 You have made them[d] a little lower than the angels[e] and crowned them[f] with glory and honor.

I'm an Orthodox Christian, convert from Protestant Christianity 9 years ago. I love & respect the Jewish practices....how could I not as many are reflected in my own practice. Lately, I'm struggling in my prayer life. Interesting, you & I have similar practices: like praying that God would open my heart & mind before reading His Word, that He would give me understanding of what He wants me to learn. LOVE your simple journal approach. I'm going to add that!! Just an FYI, they make special highlighters for bibles that are dry, not wet, so they won't bleed through the pages. Amazon I'm sure would sell them. Christian bookstores for sure sell them. Thank you for sharing your practice/routine with us. I enjoy your videos very much ❤. God bless.

This made me weirdly emotional, like i had a little cry and everything. My family has never been religious so it's only later in my life that i've started delving into things and you are SO nice to listen to that i always feel kinda privileged to learn all these things that you and creators like you show us. I also feel kind of envious that you can stick to routines and do things like this because i have adhd and it just seem like such a wonderful way to spend your time when i struggle to do ANYTHING in a routine. Thankyou for showing us and i hope you have a wonderful day

My favorite time with God is when I am in bed in the dark of night and can’t sleep or am going to sleep. I seem to hear that still, small voice better at those times. Loving your videos!

I connect with God in quiet moments of prayer, keeping silence in my home sometimes, in my patient interactions (I’m an NP in an urban high school) where I open myself up to taking in all they tell me, listening to their trauma, and doing all I can to help them become healthier in whatever way I can. I love connecting with you, Sara! ❤

Sarah, I enjoy watching and learning from your vlogs. So Thank You. I was upset to learn that the War in Israel is affecting you and your family. In that you have limited your activities when going out. I never really thought about this before. So, I apologize to you and your family and all Jewish people that this is happening. And, please don't forget not everyone is like this and, Some of us do care.

I love to connect with you! I was so glad to see a video from you today. A God-filled morning routine and intentional connection to God throughout the day is the only way for me. Thank you for the reminder of, "I get too..." The only way to push darkness out is to fill a space with light. You are a welcome light and I wish you a wonderful week!

As always Sara Malka, you hold the light in our world which is going through turmoil. Our job, as I see it, is to teach others and set an example how to be kind to one another and how to take care of others. During these difficult days in Israel, I have seen amazing outpouring of love and community service. This is our strength. For me, daily gratitude meditations, baking challah, continuous contact to comfort others in stress and getting outside have been helpful. It is also necessary to watch only the important news. I have much gratitude to you for bringing this extended family together. ❤

I love to connect with G-d! Thank you for this wonderful video. I loved your attitude that “I get to.” I had been saying “I want to” and I think “I get to” is fantastic and will be incorporating that in my life.

Sara, I love to connect with you as always! Thank you so much for this. It really felt good for my soul, as I contemplate the list of things I have to (no, I get to!) do today to get ready for the week ahead. I am still recovering from a bad cold, slightly burnt out, and emotionally drained by the ignorance and chaos on social media since October 7th. I'm not Jewish (yet, but that's a different story), but from Lebanon originally, so Jewish and Israeli people are my people, and I am so disgusted by all the antisemitism and antizionism from people who are not qualified to have an opinion about the Middle-East. So all this to say that I'm grateful to you for changing my perspective on things in a short amount of time in your video, and helping me become more aware of the blessings I've been given, so many of which I used to pray for a short few years ago without knowing if I could ever have them. Thank you so much.

I love to connect with you ! You hit a chord when you talked about thanking G-d for parking spaces. My sister and I would travel and she always prayed for parking spaces. While I thought it a bit crazy G-d always seemed to answer. So, I now too pray for and thank G-d for things like parking spaces. I include Him in all areas of my life, knowing that like He cared for every part of Avraham's life He too cares for our lives. Thank you for sharing your morning routine and may G-d bless and keep you and yours.

I love studying my Bible every morning. It's my way of shielding myself for the day. I also firmly believe in finding spiritual comfort anywhere - when l walk to work or walk in the woods; when I'm alone or with others; even if l suffer from one of my bouts of clinic depression - l still find comfort, even if only a spark. God bless you and all of your family.

I’m a Christian (Protestant) and I happen to be an early bird too, wake up early in the morning and I usually read the Bible and do a morning prayer. Always give thanks to the Lord for a new day and ask for strength to face challenges that day. It’s my time with the Lord, so peaceful… I like your videos, Sara, and thanks for sharing.

Good morning Sara! I am so happy that you shared your early morning prayer routine with us! I am a Catholic, and I pray the Liturgy of the Hours, which is a worldwide prayer ritual for all of the Catholic faithful. What is so amazing is that the intent is the same for both Jewish and Catholic prayers. How good is God! Bless you and thank you, Sara!

Thank you for your beautiful videos. This one is particularly touching. I am a Christian- I also get up early to connect with G.od. I am so blessed to live near the ocean. I wake up early in the morning and go outside to listen to the ocean and nocturnal animals and thank G.od for all that he has given me and to pray for others who are struggling. I also love to take time to connect with you❤. You are always in my prayers.

I may not be Jewish or even monotheist ( I am Nordic/Anglo Saxon Pagan), but this video was very informative. The "I get to" instead of "I have to" was brilliant. I am going to start using that myself in my faith and daily life. Amazing! Thank you and your channel for bringing insights to the world! :)

Sara, thank you for your video. Since my parents’ passing I struggle to connect with G-d. I love Him dearly, but I used to have discussions with my parents on the lessons and G-d’s will. I am struggling by not having that anymore. I love you channel as it reconnects me to some degree. Thank you!❤

Please forgive my presumption to comment here 🤍. I'm so sorry for your parents passing. My father has been gone for 18 years and my mother is elderly. My heart goes out to you.🌹 In Psalm 17:6-7 King David said: "I am praying to you because I know you will answer, O God. Bend down and listen as I pray. Show me your unfailing love in wonderful ways." I pray this for you, that God will show you His presence, His love in wonderful ways. 🤍🙏🕊️

Hi Sara I so enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing your life with us. I’m a catholic woman of faith from the UK and I also get up at 5 am to pray and spend time with G.od. The silence is the perfect setting to connect with Him. I love watching the dawn creeping over the horizon; just beautiful ❤ Your little books on the Psalms are wonderful. We don’t have or use anything like that but they’re a lovely way of reading the Psalms which are one of my favourite books of scripture. Wishing you a great week. With love and continued prayers for peace, Sharon xxx

Sarah, I LOVE TO CONNECT WITH YOU! Thank you for sharing your life with me. I so appreciate the reminder-I GET TO...do all the things I've been blessed with. From the mundane to the special, these are all things I get to do. I'm thankful for the reminder also to Listen To G.od. It is a blessing that He is always there for me and listens to me and cares for me. Bless you, Sarah, and your husband and your children. Thank you for the loving care you give your patients. And thank you for sharing your calm with us.
