#Easyonme is NOT about her ex-husband. It is actually for her son, explaining to him why she had to give up and went with a divorce. She simply asking him to be easy on her with her decision for her own happiness despite the consequences her son may come around. It explains well in the 2nd verse. In 2nd verse, she says "You can't deny how hard I've tried. I changed who I was to put you both first//But now I give up" I am happy I found your channel. She is also around 80 pounds lighter now also. I didn't notice a review on "Pentatonix"?

Also i think i read somewhere that this lyrics of the song is a time capsule letter to her son when he reaches the age of maturity. In the song when she says "go easy on me" she's actually talking to her son because her son is upset sometimes with her that she had to divorce her ex but her son did not like that. In the song she explains why and in the end of the song we see that adele has chosen to puruse her own happiness rather than to give up her happiness in exchange of keeping a broken family together. I relate to this because I KNOW in my bones that my mom and dad don't love each other anymore. I've known since the grade 5th. When I would ask her why she just won't get a divorce, her answer is always "I want you to grow around and knowing your dad. I don't want u to grow up in a broken home. I'm doing this for you and your brothers." I realized then that seeing her force herself into this relationship and not being able to puruse other love interests was actually making me sad. So i told her, if the reason she's staying is for us then I'm here to tell you that as your "reason" I would be much happier if u could find ur freedom and happiness again. Even tho the ideal would be having parents who are together and love each other I have now reached the age of maturity that understands that people are not cut-out fairy tale characters destined for fairy tale endings. Sometimes happiness means walking away no matter how painful it feels. I hope her son comes to the same realization when he grows older.

Just read somewhere that she wrote this from the perspective of her father (whom she didn't get along with until the last few years of his life). And like, the divorce from her ex husband may also be featured on other songs from the album 3️⃣0️⃣ I don't know if it's entirely true but it's not difficult to believe that. I think her maturity now comes with letting go and giving up. We are raised to believe that when we want something we should never give up and fight tooth and nail for what we want even if it meant we're suffering. But the reality is that we sometimes find that what we want is actually what's bad for us and that suffering isn't necessarily a by product of you getting closer to your happiness. Sometimes ending that suffering and giving up the fight is the path to happiness. But how can u give up the fight when fighting is so familiar to you? How can u let go when holding on when times get tough is the only thing you've ever known?
