When I visited Oaxaca, many years ago, there were none of those tents you see today around the zócalo. I still think Oaxaca is one of my favorite cities.

When was many years ago? I've seen videos of Bourdain in Oaxaca over 20 years ago and the place looked like a ghost town in comparison to what it was just now when we visited

Hi Jose Great video once again I was in Oaxaca City for 5 days a years ago , only a block from the Zocalo beautifully clean place like you said and a lot of art good art store a few blocks from Zocalo where I picked up a couple things Zocalo was amazing Rent prices are low especially for a large city like that If my Spanish was better I would go back for 1 to 6 months There weren't as many expats as some of the other cities I stayed in but hopefully my Spanish will improve enough for me to get around better the next time I go there Keep enjoying yourself and thanks for great video

Can you find a furnished apartment for around $200.00 USD per month in or near Oaxaca city? I’m considering moving to Oaxaca...
@JoseArteagaTravels3 жыл бұрын
I have no idea but you can use the free tools i have on my website to do some research and find out. But i think yes around $200-$250 sounds reasonable but i would check first.
@lostandlooking3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. You can find DECENT places for under 70 dollars a month. I currently pay 250 (everything included) for a private 2 bedroom in Oaxaca.
@christopherhouse79373 жыл бұрын
@@lostandlooking I should probably talk to the locals, to find those cheap places!? I was wondering is there decent gyms in Oaxaca to lifts weights? Thanks... So it’s possible it sounds to live good in Oaxaca for $1,000 USD a month?

Jose" now that Mexico has made MJ legal, why do you find it difficult to find wrappers, blunts, herbs....etc?
@JoseArteagaTravels3 жыл бұрын
I never found it difficult 😅 Also it's not completely legal just yet. When it does it should be just about everywhere like pharmacy's and liquor stores are

So is the ONLY legal way to live and work in Mexico, longer than 6 months, is by getting a temporary residency visa? Because I want to come to Mexico and never go back to the USA if possible. Love your videos man, keep up the great work.
@JoseArteagaTravels3 жыл бұрын
There are many ways. You can come out here on a tourist visa and then leave for 1 day and come back and get a new Tourist Visa. Its called going on a Visa Run. You can do this as many times as you want, and you dont have to go back to the USA you can go to any country. Also if you meet certain requirements there is now a new program that allows you to extend your Visa in Mexico at immigration. Again assuming you meet certain requirements. Hope that Helps!

So what happens in Mexico if the cops find a couple blunts on you ? We cant wait to check out Oaxaca. We have a son in law from there. Enjoy !
@JoseArteagaTravels3 жыл бұрын
Nothing. First they can not search you, if they do it's illegal and anything they find can not be used in a court to convict you because they illegally searched you. Now on the off hand they do so anyways there's nothing they can do. Max is 5g at this point to have legal without any problem. Anything above that they might just take from you and some cash and smoke your stuff. Pretty soon it will be 100% legal and when it is i will report it to you guys
@bananapatch91183 жыл бұрын
@@JoseArteagaTravels Cool. So at that point we can sit in the park and light up ?
@JoseArteagaTravels3 жыл бұрын
@@bananapatch9118 Nope even with it's legality just like alcohol you can not consume in public. Only your own private residence and soon in private establishments like bars. So don't light up in public unless you really want to get in trouble lol
