That's looking like an excellent set for the mobility impaired. Thanks Master Pasquinilli 8:58 Throwing knives is an excellent exercise. Most people think violence is about strength. A knife is a wedge, a staff is a lever. You're using simple machines combined with God's gift of all simple machines combined imbued with SPIRIT and MIND. Throwing knives is like playing horseshoes, just more impressive. Better than a golf shot to pick it up and fling the heavy blade or the light blade directly into the target so deep it takes em' a minute to pull it out. The reason it is impressive is because that knife will bounce back. Reaching for it too early is to ignore the maxim _don't try to catch a falling knife_ . Knives bouncing back can cut you, but by that time, they've lost most of their energy in the deflection. Pay attention; I have got careless when I badly wanted to repeat attempts. Quickness is carelessness. I didn't get cut, I could have. Fast is smooth, smooth is fast. There is nothing wrong with repeating a failed attempt. Wrong is overconfidence, reaching for the bouncing blade, believing you know where it will land. Relentless attack is natural, it must be resisted. On the third breath, the back leg twists and the thrown knife slams home. Fixed blades I use for throwing could have a grip, or be a heavy skinning knife. The fixed blade you're going to need in a knife fight is one you cannot allow to leave your hand. I would not carry a smooth handled hunting knife for self-defense. You cannot turn your back on an enemy who has decided to engage you with a knife unless you intend to outrun them, and can outrun. Maneuver to a position where you can push them over a curb, down an embankment, down stairs. Anyone that draws a blade and threatens you with it intends to take what they want. You must knock them down, blind them, or otherwise disable before taking the shortest route to safety.

You really make those strikes seem easy Matt that I am motivated to try harder and practice more with my stick using your techniques.

Great video Sensei Matt. I've just retired and was thinking about learning and teaching the cane for self defense to do something on the side. I'm going to be following closely. Again, Thank you.

Hi Matt. Thanks for all these videos! In response to your question about what other videos we'd like to see you do... I have a Cane Masters oak cane and can spin it around and around on one side, but the moment I try to do a crossover the sharp point on the short side of the crook catches my wrist and ruins the spin. (Hurts like heck too.) So could you please consider doing a video where you focus on the mechanics of spinning? Perhaps including some slow-motion footage? Thanks for your consideration.

@@pasquinilliThat is shocking. Sure, criminals do research. For sh'ts sakes, criminals go a a criminal college called jail. Censors are lower than worms. Worms at least purpose themselves with sh*ttin' good dirt.

I was watching your videos at trestle Park last year, some dude at the next table or two tables would say he already passed him. I pass no one, in Wisconsin they leave ppl alone except vloggers to look like I broke the law in advance. I wouldn't be hitting people.

If I broke the law, I wouldn't be trying to do a lawsuit, not happening because my family in danger if I do nothing.

The pronoun game is dangerous too, my wife's nickname is spelled like a pronoun but it isn't. My wife is innocent & I can prove that too in court. If the judge read what I wrote in 2017 after my trip.

I can tell you all of that choreographed spinning you're doing is absolutely useless to try to defend yourself. You're just like every other martial artist. You teach a bunch of pretty choreographed dance moves that are only gonna get someone hurt.
