I noticed that my steps are different, so I do similar exercises on the stairs and I push myself around the yard with the affected leg on the wheelchair, I can't do it for long, but I'm making some progress. Have a nice week.

Good evening, Dr. Tara. I've been diagnosed with MS several months ago and my neurologist made it clear at our first meeting that apart from medication (which might be effective or not) it's crucial to take very seriously the idea of exercising constantly (and to make order in the diet and sleep program). I find your videos extremely useful - thank you for taking the time to make them.

Hi Valentin! Thanks for watching and for sharing your story. I am glad you find these videos helpful :) I agree that nutrition, exercise and sleep are critical to slowing disease progression in MS

Hello, Dr. Tara. you know, I doubt there is an obvious causal link between diet and MS; doctors would have noticed it until now. I suspect there is pure and simple the inner comfort there is something I can do about my disease. I cannot control what happens to my neurons, but I can decide what I put into me. very likely, any diet (which is non-idiotic) is better than no diet at all. thank you for your reply.

Dr Tara, Thank you once again for such an informative, comprehensive session. I particularly appreciate that you explain the issue in detail that in turn motivates me to do the exercises. You continue to help me with my MS rehab. I am so grateful to you.

A normal gait does not involve a push off with the rear foot. The calf does not contract at that point. It's a common misconception. Instead the toe lifts off the ground and the leg begins to swing forward. Left side affected, it points, but the relay time from brain to foot is several seconds. There's severly inhibited reflex impulse. Have you seen ways to retrain that?
