haven't been watching many videthe past 6 months...moved from CA Central Coast region to West Sacramento. So surf fishing is off the table buuuut, I'm just a 10-15 min bike ride or car trip to the Sacramento River, American River is just a hit further... so all of your videos and tips will still aid me as I learn how to fish big-ish rivers. Even will use some of your salted baits as backup to live baits. I've really enjoyed your, the wife, mom & pop's love of fishing. You guys make it fun. Thanks a bunch. And I simply have grab one of the depth finders. The river has lots of pressure and being a river rookie limited to the shore, finding depth can't hurt my chances. Gonna fish with 24yr old step son who loves fishing too...we'll build our own family bonding like your family!

You guys actually inspired me to get back out there with my young boys. I was a hardcore fisherman as a young boy myself, but fell away as the years got on. I'm thankful for your inspiration to get out there with my boys. (And my very young daughter who loves catching sunfish - and releasing them!) I don't think they will be hardcore fisherman, but they at least have the memories of going out with their dad in early spring at 4am on opening day to get a good spot and wait for trout season to open at 6am. You can't purchase times like that for any amount of money. Same for going to my favorite jetty and sandbar (A half mile road to an island that opens up at low tide.) and fishing for snapper bluefish! Unfortunately Long Island Sound has warmed incredibly fast...almost 10 degrees over the last couple decades. The lobster population died out, and many of the fish I grew up with have moved to cooler water, but we still have/had a ton of fun! Edit: I hit enter accidentally. I wanted to say I can't believe you guys don't have more subs. I'm shocked actually. It certainly isn't because of poor content, and it certainly isn't because of lack of effort. You guys are the real deal, I hope you're making a decent living at least, you earned it!

Thats how I felt when I caught that Rare Glassnose in The OBX. That fish had to travel without getting eaten all the way from Hawaii. I felt the need to let it go back to its journey. hopefully to not be eaten instantly as i returned it. Id love to see more come around even though ill probably never catch another nice sized one like that in the surf!

I like the idea of floating, I think that will work also to me in my area where we have almost similar area where there’s a lot of wave breaker made of concrete and rocks, so if you fish without bowyer or floating it will keep on stuck on the rocks and every time you keep on loosing your line. I loved fishing jetty's in Coney Island, Seagate and Staten Island. I lost track of tide once on the jetty and had to walk back using pole as guide so i knew where to step. terrified, nearly had to swim back which meant stripping out of waders on the rock with water up to belly already. I was fishing on a jetty in Connecticut. It was night and the water was rough. At the end throwing popper and tin squids . We were hitting big blue fish over 10 pounds plus. It was a bit hairy on those rocks as the waves broke over the jetty. I can't recall the park's name . The next day it was a calm sunny beautiful day. I don't recommend anyone going out on a jetty by your self. The gaps between the rocks were killers.

Hey Brandon, I love watching your videos. Just a couple comments, your rod tip too high when fighting a fish and you don't often secure your hook set after the fish is on. Give it a few good crank of the rod after a fish is on and you should drop less fish.
