Thank you Lee for taking the time to state and restate how this is not a good solution for people who purchased what are supposed to be flagship goggles from CADDX. This is like buying a car that's supposed to have air conditioning, taking it back to the dealer because it isn't working, and the dealer straps a window unit to the roof instead of actually fixing the problem

The 3.5mm cable was supplied with the replacement heatsink AND was provided with goggles which came with the newer heatsink already installed. People need to check their boxes.

​@@smooth_ops2942 they had planned to. The goggles have a 6axis gyro inside, but a decision was made to upgrade all HT hardware to 9axis. Therefore a retrofit module was required for existing goggles.

@@tmc-fpv they were forced as XFrobot the oem gimbals manufacturer needs 9 axis for the walksnail link to work, caddx have no control over there product as they are not making most of it so had to get xfrobot to then make a headtracker (xf robot already see it).

"Borg wet dream" xD I'm an occasional FPV flyer (I do more LoS) and have often thought about a slow switch to digital. I thought the Goggles X might be the way to go, with the expandability option shown at launch letting me add my analogue module for just a single set of goggles. However, the current implementation is a bit of a dog's dinner so I'd simply be on two sets of goggles anyway. I'll switch one days but want a really nice hybrid solution to do so and this isn't it.

it looks funny on the top with a lot of cables. i found my OG furious FPV dock-king and tried that on my google X . works a treat. that 4 and 5 pole connector come included with the googles X when i bought mine. maybe that's why it's not included in that extension board kit.

Had to buy the extension board as the company I bought the walksnail goggles from didn't have it. Goggles didn't come with the 3.5mm cable. Ordered the heatsink, didn't come with one. I've now spent a bunch of cash and still can't connect it to my goggles. They don't seem to sell the cable either.

It appears that the analogue module is only being attached by the pins could be a real weak point for the module? Perhaps a rubber band around the connectors on each side? Just something to hold the module down and take some of the stress from the module connector.

Nice that it's free minus shipping but the it is huge up there. The nice clean look of the goggles just got. Ugly and the nice goggles x case is useless . An internal solution would have been better. Think I'll keep my goggle xs expansion moduleless and use my skyzones to fly analog. I like the non borg version. All that clutter is why I stopped using my skyzone o4x with the a avatar vrx on the front. Makes them hard to pack. And easy to break in the field or trail. But very cool to have the option. @@MJ-bj1gn the analogue feed does not flow thru the goggles DVR unit. A DVR board can be connected to the front jst connectors on the module. I'm using a runcam DVR board with mine.

Tricky to answer as that is affected by FOV in the goggles, the screen in the goggles, the settings on the camera, the camera used and the FOV of the camera. I prefer Walksnail for the reasons I've covered in my videos on the system but none of the HD FPV systems are 'perfect' and universally the 'best' choice.

Great description of the new module! I'm waiting for my dealer to get it. The original foam is too wide for me and feels like diving goggles. It looks like the goggles with the original foam were too wide for you too. Can you please tell me: How did you adjust the head part and which foam is it?

Maybe someone knows about the problem? i need a help. I went with this model to analog, flew and turned them off. When it is turned on again, just a black screen, cooling works, but I cannot change the AV modes, and there is no response to the keys. The display is black and it is not a proximity sensor.

I was seriously considering Walksnail but the lack of analogue was a showstopper. This box and rats nest of wires is an abomination visually and just asking for loose connections and things getting snagged and broken. Maybe if they eventually add the HT internally to the Goggles X and provide a proper analogue input I will buy them.

It seems like a temporary solution to the problem. Since they announced the free availability of this module only until March 2025, my speculation is that they plan to release an upgraded version of the goggles with the built-in 3-axis magnetometer and perhaps an analog bay. Who knows...

Gosh it's janky. For what it's worth they have put XF robot's (the gimbal manufacturer) head tracker in the module, given it uses the same piece of software for updating and configuring. However in true caddx style, they arent including the serial/usb cable needed to connect to a PC. What a mess.
