We were at a river in Brunei looking for a boat to take us on a tour. I had lots of men approach me but I saw this guy parked quietly at the side and approached him, asking about his price. He was very reasonable and was the best tour guide we could have had. I learnt that it's better not to be in a hurry but to observe and use your best judgement.

The best thing about hotels in sharm el sheikh is that the hotel rooms are usually spread out over big beautiful garden areas instead of being in one big building, or they just have big spacious pool areas. I loved walking through the gardens to get to the pool and beach area, or when heading to the main building to eat. It's just a shame that everyone there always seems hostile or corrupt or as if they're trying to get something from you

I have to hand it to you, this is among my favorite channels on KZbin. You do such a great job. It must take a long time to set your camera up and walk away, then walk back. You do it so nicely I don't stop to consider it often, but when I do I'm impressed. It really must be a long travel day. The Terminal is the Tom Hanks movie where he is suck in an airport. I watched it for the first time on our flight home from Edinburgh last September. It made for a good in-flight movie.

4:40 - do you not have a Monzo/Curve/Starling/Revolut account? Can use your card with no/minimal fees. You can take out so much cash from an ATM cheaper than using an exchange and for any card transactions pay standard MasterCard/Visa exchange rates.

OMG i saw your flight take off! I was watching a live stream of Gatwick when they said it had been closed due to 'drones' but the camera guy zoomed in and we could see it was birthday balloons that had somehow gotten loose.

2005 was the last time I was in Egypt. Organised a bus transfer from the airport to avoid the taxi rip off. Elsewhere negotiation on taxis was straight forward and a bit of fun.

ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO TIM!!!! We go to sharm all the time are due back in september The people in Egypt are genuinely friendly (not fake) and will do anything for you!!! I go to the coral sea holiday village and its amazing and the swim pools are proper swim up pools 🤣 (yours is definitely not a swim up one). I usually take Euros (Left over from cape verde) or English pounds as the Egyptians will take this but prefer american dollars because of the exchange rate i think. I can’t comment on taxis as we go all inclusive through TUI. Alot of people complain about the airport on the way back home because of there are lots of checks but they are only doing there job and keeping people safe. ENJOY YOUR TIME THERE TIM IM WELL JEALOUS!!!

Happy memories of Gatwicks South terminal. Back in the day we'd take the Virgin Atlantic service VS015 (if I remember rightly) to Orlando on the good old 747 Jumbo jet. We'd stay at the Gatwick Hilton the night before which is right at the terminal to start the holiday off in style....Happy days 😃

Will never go there again. Went with a female friend - she spent the entire time afraid and upset by hassle from locals. Incredibly unpleasant, I had to square up to a few blokes there just to get them away from her, and I'm not an aggressive person, far from it. Wanted to come home 3 days into it. There's far better countries nearby to go to for a "lock in" holiday if that's what you're after.

Love the look of the room. Last time I was on a plane was during covid when I was flying down to Birmingham from Edinburgh to goto Nuneaton to visit the boyfriend and was on easyJet as flybe had went bust the first time and there was only ten of us passengers on the easyJet plane.

i remember Egypt (especially Sharm el-Sheikh) was all the rage in all the travel agents about 12+ years ago then it just stopped. Dont really hear many people going anymore (unless you want to see the pyramids etc). Probably due to Dubai becoming more popular and less hassle.

Tim I've been to sharm el sheikh before it's beautiful there. Shame about that taxi driver that's kinda scary oh dear, and the flight being 3 HOURS DELAYED that's ridiculous i would have been very abboyed. I didn't stay in the same hotel as you though haha but not far i dont think. My hotel was lovely and your room looked lovely as well. The view is also beautiful. Thanks for sharing Tim 👍

It’s a very high end hotel but still affordable, rixos sharm and rixos seagate are fantastic hotels, ultra all inclusive and a larger water park included in them. A huge pity you didn’t end up there. We had our fingers crossed when you announced you were going to Egypt! 😂 it’s one of the top 100 hotels in the world.

What a long travelling day you must of been shattered Tim! 3 hours on the runaway waiting for the drones or balloons or whatever to shift. I bet that doesn't happen too often! The snacks aboard the flight looked nice. And that sunset flying into Egypt I'm glad you had a window seat with no one seating next to you. Must of felt more comfortable. That Taxi did look Tatty! I don't think I'd like to go alone to Egypt I think they'd rip me off terrible! At least you got to the Hotel in one piece. Apart from the outdated Telephones the rooms was nice & it didn't look to grimey. The pool was nearby but certainly wasn't swim in from your room😂sounds like you could just jump out of bed into the pool in the morning 🌅 And the pool didn't look so very clean either. The Airport actually looked the most fun with the samples lots of stuff to look at & the shiny glitter floors. I like the glide conveyer belts across parts of the Airport, easier than all that walking about. It must really take hours to get around the whole Airport. What a mad busy day of travelling. I bet you slept well Tim. And it sounds nice & hot in Egypt at 28 degrees 🌄

Love the airport coverage but you can keep Egypt. We complain about our taxis but at least they are inspected and taken off the road if they don’t comply with safety regs. I felt really nervous for you.

my sister was taking a taxi to run errands in Cairo the other day and she kept sending me messages throughout the ride about how she's terrified and wants to get out. She said young drivers are surprisingly worse than old ones, and that the particular driver on that ride was 'whipping it like he's suicidal'. the man couldn't be bothered to strap on his own seatbelt 😬

Little tip for you mate ask them a price and when they say come and start moving stand still and say no price first and ask different cabs prices without getting in feels like when your in your committed so just give them a blunt no and walk away to the next driver

I travel with just a bag back & convenience, it makes it a much more pleasant experience, I’ve been fortunate that all the hotels I’ve stayed at have washers, but you can easily wash your small items in the shower, which is your favourite airport to travel from, the best one I’ve travelled from is Luton
