I spent a night at the ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi in 2003, just an ordinary room, not a fancy suit like that. But still it was an unfogettable experience, I even received a cetificate about surviving the night, with -9°C outside and -5°C inside my room. And before the night we had an outside sauna session, including jumping into the hole in the frozen lake. I will remember that forever!

The only main thing this hotel should change-is giving everybody bathrooms in their rooms. I think the most important thing in a hotel is your, bathroom. You shouldn’t have to get out of bed and walk outside to use the toilet. It’s sort of takes the experience away not having a toilet in your ice room. Great video as always Tim. 🙌

Apart from the heated bathroom and having lights on, my flat was like that last Winter when the gas and electric got too dear, and the money for meters ran out for six weeks. It was a good laugh though, and I recovered from hypothermia by May.

Although I can’t see myself staying in an ice hotel, this video is fascinating to watch, it must be a surreal experience staying here with the contrast of both warm bathroom/ice cold in your room, the light reflecting around so bright yet the snow walls make it so quiet as if you are alone in the whole hotel, and also being able to appreciate work of extremely talented artists. Thank you for making this video Tim, it’s just amazing.

Got to be one of the best bathrooms you've shown us on your trips. Interesting experience, the sculptures in the room and seeing the other rooms too shows there is a lot of attention to detail, the ensuite was a necessity I'd say.

I stayed there 5 years ago. We had one night in the ice hotel and one night in their cabins. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone considering it.

FYI: for those who don’t want to have to cross the pond to get this experience… In the gorgeous historical city of Quebec City, Quebec Canada started an ice hotel 1-2 years after the original opened. It is open for 4 months each winter. In Quebec, like over there, the reason for the chapel is to perform weddings - which I have seen on vlogs.

I’ve been lucky enough to stay there a few times, ( it changes every year) taking different members of my family, it’s an amazing place, once in bed it’s not that cold, hope you got to see an aurora that’s the icing on the cake. This brought back a lot of very happy memories

This place is just gorgeous but I can honestly say this is one place I could not stay. Last year our heat went out during the coldest part of winter and it was the most miserable experience of my life! Breathing cold air and never truly being able to get completely warm was simply torture and made me feel weak and ill. Thank you for sharing this beautiful experience but some place warmer like Figi is more my dream stay! Wonderful adventure! Thank you!❤

This is THE most beautiful hotel I've seen. I love the way it lights up. It all looks like crystal. I was bowled over by how gorgeous this ice hotel truly is. Though I like mainly all of it, I just wasn't keen on the giant dragon in the bedroom, but that was probably because it looked a bit intimidating. I will never see another like this. It's so stunning. How has it not won any hospitality awards? 😍

I stayed with a friend at the only Ice Hotel in North America the Hotel de Glacé in Quebec city Canada and it was amazing very similar with its own unique Canadian flare! Great experience highly recommend! 👍

Absolutely astounding everything in Ice I can't imagine how you managed to stay warm & sleep a full night! Thank God that Bathroom was nice & hot & it did have a jacuzzi! So you could seek refuge in there if you needed too. I wonder how many nights you would of liked to stay there Tim? I'm imagining one night was enough. It was truly beautiful to look at without having to experience the coldness as I suffer from Chest problems & spine problems I'm afraid that would be a totally impossible experience for me! But I'm sure you found the whole experience exhilarating! You looked perfectly fine the next morning when you came outside again! All that up there in the Northest Sweden! WOW! Certainly a unique place - it looks out of this world . Why was nobody slipping & sliding on the ice? I like my creature comforts, and having to don thermals & get into a sleeping bag to go to bed doesn't tick that box! I can imagine people staying a night, just for the experience, but I imagine a week would be too much! Excellent video!!

What a unique experience. I saw a TV programme about the Ice Hotel a few years ago and the craftsmanship is incredible. Glad you got to experience it, but think it would be too cold for me as my feet are always like blocks of ice in the cold weather!
