I like this perspective, anyone can discuss this concept regardless of what part of the political spectrum you agree with

When will Libertarians understand that philosophical principles have almost no value for the vast majority of people. Most people value practical solutions. They do not understand economics, they think ''if we don't collect taxes, how can we run the country'', ''how can we build the roads'', ''how can we not help the poor'' and etc. Milton Friedman understood that pragmatism goes a long way. If you want to move in the direction of Liberty, you better start giving practical answers and pragmatic solutions.

You don't understand what Walter is saying. The problem is not taxation, but the wealth redistribution from productive citizens to unproductive citizens. He is not against taxes used for maintenance of government institutions like Army, Police, Fire departments, and public infrastructure. The libertarians are not against taxes. We totally understand that taxes are necessary part for maintain the government. The problem is irresponsible government spending, mostly on welfare, when tax rates reach the points when cause negative effects aka Laffer Curve - in that case it promote gray economy and gray job market, like in my country. In that case increasing the taxes, cause much smaller tax revenue, than politicians have expected.

Please listen once again, he speaks about negative consequences of welfare programs. All life, he preached against subsidies and welfare on the back on taxpayers. It creates a generations of lazy, ungrateful people who want to live on other's backs. That was also in my ex-socialistic country, when money was drained in ex-Yugoslavia, then everything when to shit. Many citizens lived at expense of their own children. Even after post-socialism, the government did not change much, still begun to operates with socialistic mindset. Imagine, even in socialistic Yugoslavia, the baby boomer did not have free bus riding, well what did happen, the prices of tickets was rose, at expense of young people. The government became the biggest employers, and pays at expense of private sector which is shrinking every year due taxes and various extortions. Many small business owners are middle class citizens, and I can confirm this from first hand. It is easy to make good actions, at someone else expense, like politicians without caring the consequences. Try to do charity at own expense, like the most libertarians do, at least I can speak for myself.

TAXATION is NOT theft........because.......YOU TACITLY AGREE TO TAXED WITHIN THE JURISDICTION YOU ARE UNDER. If you do not like the current Jurisdiction....change it....Vary The Agreement.....practice the RIGHT OF SELF-DETERMINATION.

I was born into this. So much of my money is taken I live in poverty and can not move. I work as much as possible and still can't afford a car. I try to fight but evil left-wing "morality" controls all national media/Hollywood/propaganda, education, government, corporations, financial institutions etc. But, 80% of Americans don't have 400 dollars. The wrath of God is coming. Lol The day is coming.
