Great video and a bit of advice for those doing this (from experience here): There is a good chance that if you flub up the spring loading part 04:30 when putting the slide back on that the spring will shoot out of there and fly 20+ yards to God only knows where. Be in a place where you can find it because if you are outside when this happens, you will probably never find it again. It has happened to me twice and luckily, I was indoors and found the damn thing. Other than this I have had no issues with mine and have had it over 10 years.

Great video, it helped a lot. After fighting with the spring I used an 1/8" roll pin to help. I held the firearm barrel up (yes make sure it is unloaded) trigger and magazine towards me and slide and barrel away. With thumb under Tigger guard and grip on the floor and fingers over the top. I held the slide sort of on top and in position with the spring inside ready to attempt to compress the spring. **First before compressing the stick the 1/8" roll pin through the slide, then through the spring and go all the way to the spring pin. Use the slide to compress the spring while using the roll pin to help keep the spring and spring pin straight or lines up but the it is through the slide so the slide can go all the way on!

I agree with the comments that this was step x step accurate. My only addition (that I struggled with) is the head of the pin needs to set all the way back in it's receiver hole before starting to set the spring/pin assembly in the front pocket. Maybe I missed it? Now onto the alterations that fix the problem of sticking and not ejecting to advance each round! This is why the Germans lost the war! LOL. Seriously as a retired Master machinist, the German craftsmanship was held second to none. Not anymore....Great video/ I am subscribed.

I learned another way to handle the spring and pin. Place the pin along with the spring into the slide and push the pin through the slide hole and pull on the pin using a finger and thumb and compress the spring and next attach the slide to the frame. If that pin is greasy or oily forget it because the pin will become difficult for the fingers and thumb to hold onto.

I wouldn't exactly call the P22 "junk" but they are pretty close. I'll say I wouldn't buy another one. It's not as bad after I discovered that the ONLY ammo it will shoot is CCI Stingers. Regarding cleaning, the best way to clean nearly any .22 is to put a few rounds down the tube. Disassembly to clean one is an act of desperation.

My concern is that both of the markings for "safe" have both disappeared. They are not engraved into the slide. You have to inspect under the hammer closely to see if it is safe or not. It should be immediately obvious of the gun is on safe. In your case, I can barely see your safe markings. Nice presentation on putting these back together. I have had difficulty also. I have not shot mine very much. I prefer other 22 pistols.
