The p22 was my first gun after turning 21. It’s been 11 years, they should have be able to figure out how to fit more than 10 rounds in that frame by now. Great review btw

They keep it 10 for the states that have mag limits so they only have to produce 1 version. Keeps production costs down and subjects you to blue state gun control regardless of where you are.

Thanks for your great post on the Walther P22Q. I liked and subscribed. This is the first Walther firearm in my collection. I've had my P22 for about 6 months and have had no malfunctions. The pistol has fired every 22 LR round I've loaded in it.

Just one observation. You mentioned some complain about the magazine release. I'm appalled that anyone would complain simply because it's different. It works great. @@WaltherLover

Thank you, great video review. I bought one last weekend. Just waiting for the Sheriff where I live to issue my coupon so I can pick it up from the gun store. Looking forward to shooting it. It appears that all the feeding issues people talk about have been resolved with the captive recoil spring.

I always wonder why people have to wait for the Sheriff to allow exercising of their rights. Does the Sheriff have to wait for your approval ? Seems the cart is pulling the horse . . . ☆

I'm concerned about jamming, feed and ejection issues that plagued the 1st Gen P22. Anyone have ammo issues with the P22Q?
@josephesquivel40662 жыл бұрын
I just actually bought one of these, Nickel slide and black frame, currently sitting in purgatory at my FFL for the darn state background check to clear. That of course is more or less second generation of the P22. The originals were made with a design more similar to the P99, though I have heard reviews about that model, whereas these obviously have more of a PPQ influence to their design.
@WaltherLover2 жыл бұрын
I bet it looks amazing with the nickel slide! Hope you get that bad boy soon!

I'm looking at getting one of these, but I never used a hammer fired gun before. Can you decock the hammer while the safety is on so that there's no chance of it accidentally firing?

Excellent review. I got an awesome deal on one brand new for under 200 bucks. I should be picking it up tomorrow. Not my first experience with Walther as my first pistol was a P99 that I've been carrying for years. Can't wait to put some rounds down range with it!

I wish it had a steel breech block insert like the Taurus TX22.

I just got one and have about 100 rds through it so far. Trying to decide if it’s reliable enough for conceal carry. So far I’d say yes. Anybody have opinions on that?
@WaltherLover2 жыл бұрын
The gun has certainly been very reliable, but for carry, I don't know. I'm not comfortable with .22 for carry.
@ParkwoodLane2 жыл бұрын
@@WaltherLover Regarding using it for carry, are you concerned about the reliability (FTF or FTE issues) or the stopping power of the caliber?
@WaltherLover2 жыл бұрын
@@ParkwoodLane definitely concerned about the caliber. With the right ammo I have had zero reliability issues. Just a little light for defense.

I just bought one of these last week and I'm waiting for the 10 day period to pass. The only thing I noticed on mine that is different from yours is that my safety doesn't have that red dot when it's on fire. Is that just an insert or did they do away with that on the new models? I'm excited and great review. 👍🏼
@WaltherLover2 жыл бұрын
Congrats on the purchase, I believe you’ll love it! I checked another one and it also has the red dot below the safety so I’m not sure why yours doesn’t. Thanks for checking out the review, let us know how you like the gun after you get some time with it!
@sergionascimentobordalo2022 жыл бұрын
Yours may be a previous design. I think the red dot is the most recent one.
@RescueEMS2 жыл бұрын
The P-22 CA version does not come with the red dot. Use red nail polish to fill the hole.
@omarc4ut Жыл бұрын
P22 doesn't have a red dot for the safety and has old checkered 1st Gen pattern. The upgraded P22Q has red dot and newer and different looking grip pattern like the one shown in the video.
