Kevin Washington Nice to know that your Walther shoots almost any ammo. Just the other day I’ve tried Winchester 1280 FPS and that ammo performed much better than Aguila box of ammo. It fired without any issues and fully cycled for about 400 rounds. I think when the gun gets dirty it starts having feeding and cycling issues. It’s great for plinking and target practice but not for self defense. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I use CCI Mini mag or Remington golden bullet or Thunderbolt they all run fine in my Walter. I recommend using golden bullet I can pick it up for $7 for a hundred rounds at bass pro.

Thank you Michael For your input and very useful field tests with different types of name brands. Currently ammo is kinda hard to come by right now, it’s basically what’s on the shelf at the moment and if you don’t grab what they have the guy behind you will. I’ve heard nothing but great reviews about CCI stinger and copper ammo so I’ll have to try it sometime as well as Golden bullet rounds. Thanks for watching and commenting, greatly appreciate it.

Just a quick note. You might want to get a captured steel spring for the Walther P22 from eBay. The spring makes it much easier to take down the pistol and reassemble. The spring runs about $22

This Walther plinker is great for target practice but I wouldn’t trust it with my life. Although, I would rather have a rim fire gun than a stick 😂. Center fire guns are the best personal and home defense weapons. Glad your gun cycles without any issues. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers

I have both the long barrel and short barrel P-22. Make sure no lube oil is present on the safety mechanical parts or the safety lever will drop down on safety while firing. Parts for the P-22 are also difficult to find. The short barrel P-22 I have, I might just throw it in the river soon I despise it so much.
@balabay773 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip. As a matter of fact I already learned my lesson when I lost the right side of the safety lever during target practice. Had to call the company and surprisingly they mailed it to me for free. In retrospect I should’ve added another 200 bucks and bought a 9mm Glock instead. Anyways, thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers

I’ll take it if you don’t want it. I have been looking for months for the 3.4in barrel. I hate the 5in barrel so much.

Do you know where to find parts? I’ve been looking since august for the 3.4in barrel. I lost my front sight. And my safety is getting loose. Really should’ve just went with a G19 like everyone else lol.

Get a 9mm center fire handgun instead of 22LR. Trust me, 9mm is more reliable than rimfire ammo.

@@balabay77 Ok. I do plan on getting the Springfield XD9 in CA. I’m most accurate with the XD Service Model but and would love to try the XD sub-compact. I tried the G19 but I’m not accurate with it yet and G26 is snappy (though I was able to hit the bullseye with it). I want one 9mm and one pistol as a back up. Possibly one I can carry as a back up so that’s where I was hoping the Walther P22 would come in. For such a size, I can’t think of their 9mms that would be in my category of back up gun here in CA. I tried the Sig P238. Soft shooter but my accuracy was bad because of the STIFF trigger. I was thinking Bersa Firestorm. Any other suggestions as a back up small pistol in the CA roster? One that will have a grip for my pinky as much as possible? Along with the 2 pistols, I’d love to try and have an AR-15 that shoots 5.56 and an AR-10 that shoots .308. Plus a .45 ACP pistol.
@balabay77 Жыл бұрын
@@nastymkfan Whichever gun you choose is up to you of course but don’t buy a 22LR like my Walther or any other 22 for that matter as a backup gun. From my experience 22LR ammo has a tendency to jam, misfire or stove pipe than any other center fire ammo. I swear, every time we go shooting with it we always have issues. 22 is great for plinking and maybe taking care of rodent infestation but I wouldn’t trust it as a self defense weapon. Just my 2 cents. I’ve seen a smith and Wesson M&P 9mm sub compact handgun at sportsman’s warehouse on sale for $439.99 recently. Now that’s a good handgun as a backup. I’m personally a Glock fanboy so I bought a couple and love my G19 and G35 (.40) which can also be converted to G34 (9mm) by installing conversion barrel. Anyways, good luck with your choice of handguns and let me know how it all works out for you. Cheers 🍻

So did the gun just need to be cleaned? Or is it failing to feed ammo forever?
@balabay773 жыл бұрын
These particular guns are cheap so don’t expect it to last forever. First of all they require high velocity rounds to properly feed and secondary they are pain in the rear to clean. I’ve noticed with my gun, after shooting 250 or so rounds, it stops feeding properly. Not sure what’s causing it but I should take my cleaning kit with me next time I go and clean the feeding ramp and bore as soon as it starts miss feeding. Word on the street is that upgraded captured spring rod might help with feeding issues. Also be sure to use a thread locker on your safety levers because I lost the right side lever and had to contact the company directly for replacement. They mail it to me for free. Anyways, as a plinker it’s a great practice gun but I wouldn’t bet my life on it.

@@balabay77 wow thanks for the rely on a video months old. Is their a different 22 you’d recommend? Shooting 9 or 556 rn seems dumb as it’s almost $1 a bullet. Looking to get a 22 for cheap bullets and to get my girl into shooting
@balabay773 жыл бұрын
@@SavageRoosterOnThaLooster It’s great for beginners due to low recoil. My kid loves to shoot it until it starts miss feeding than we switch to other calibers. All in all it’s not bad. I think 9mm is ideal all around guns or so everyone says. Good luck and thanks for watching and commenting.
