I agree with Greg’s initial reaction, and it echoes what Dan Murrel said in his review, which was that this series nailed what it needed to nail: Wanda and Vision. They were easily the strongest characters/dynamic of the series, and at the end of it that matters more than the stuff surrounding it.

The five stages of grief are denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. The surface of this show is silly between superhero’s and sitcoms but underneath the surface is a profound story dealing with trauma and grief. The show covers all the stages of grief - I wish people talked about this more. Once the fan lenses are removed people will appreciate this show for what it is really about.

It was essentially laid out in the Visions' discussion of "The Ship of Theseus" paradox. Wanda's Vision is the original ship that had each part replaced one at a time (i.e. it's essentially the same ship, but is not made of its original parts). White Vision is the new ship that was assembled from the parts taken from the original ship. Both are the "real" ship, and neither are the "real" ship. So it's safe to say that white Vision can still be a "real" Vision.

My only gripe was Monica's line: "they'll never know what you sacrificed for them" Monica she tortured a whole fucking town for 9 days, turned a bunch of them to puppets, put a lot of them on stasis. I think what everybody is forgetting is this is a TV show. a short tv show. What it did bring was MCU level that we expect from the movies. We were hyped for the show just like a MCU type movie. The finale was perfect for what the show was about. WANDA and the VISION. WANDA-VISION. The finale didn't have the cameos or the endgame level of epicness but it sowed many seeds for the future in the MCU. monica rambeau, the new vision, scarlett witch (which i assume is the tie in to the Dr. Strange film), Wanda's kids, etc. Now I REALLY want to see the new Dr. Strange film. I really want to see the next MCU tv show.
@nickalexander88543 жыл бұрын
When we look back on this in the future, I think we are going to find that this was only "disappointing/underwhelming" because it was the first. By that I mean, none of us knew how much world-building they were actually going to be doing in the Disney+ Shows -- because none of them existed yet. Now, going into Falcon and Winter Soldier, we know a little bit more of what to expect. We will get really good personal stories, but we probably aren't going to get universe shifting events. We probably aren't going to be getting mega-cameos like Dr. Strange or Reed Richards, let alone some new major villain like Mephisto. Important things will happen (e.g. Photon, White Vision, Wiccan & Speed), but it seems clear that going forward the Big Screen is still the main event.

I think people forget what the movies, after the big avengers movies came out, did. I remember looking forward to seeing Iron Man 3 because I thought they were going to go deep into the future and it was just a Tony Stark story and it didn’t do anything to tease future movies. Even the after credit scene was just a funny scene that Bruce was falling asleep listening. People are just disappointed because their theories did not pan out. But at the end of the day this was just a story for Wanda since she’s the only one that didn’t get to grieve in the movies. She never had her own movie because she was always a side character. This show is amazing.

I absolutely loved this entire season and felt like the ending was so earned. It's rare that we get to see a character in a universe of this scale in a smaller, more intimate story, especially one that deals with loss and grief. They did a good job of showing how our pain affects not only us but the people around us. As much as this story is Wanda's overcoming her past and getting a proper goodbye, it's also about Vision getting to live out his fantasy and coming to terms with his identity. I love this approach and I'm really excited to see the other MCU shows take deep dives into characters both familiar and new. This has made both Wanda and Vision into two of my absolute favourites and I cannot wait for the future of the MCU.

Yeah when these first started people who wanted plot recaps really outnumbered people who didn't so it's been this way since. It works to allow discussion on every aspect because when they didn't the conversation might not be as in depth and they'd miss talking about a lot of things. But the downside of course is when there's long moments of just plot recap for something you just watched. It's worth thinking tho that for the movies at least there probably a lot of people who don't rewatch the movie before seeing these so that's why they favor the plot recap as that is their refresher.
