Bought a X2D recently with 45P. Loving it. Best experience by far with a camera. Subbed.

Nice channel…..glad to see another Hasselblad user posting RL use of this system….agree with your workflow. I also use the Phocus, export as tiff, and then finish it off with PS. I’ve even further simplified the process by using a m4 iPad and only connecting(sidecar) it to my MacBook when needing to edit heavily.

Phocus is horribly slow isn't it. Feels like software from 10 years ago.

Great video and explanation on using it for corporate work, also Phocus is free when you own any Hasselblad Digital camera and currently still get free upgrades, I bought a second hand H3D and now own a H5D. Adobe and Capture One are great pieces of software but are monthly or annual subscription services if you want to keep the software up-to date. If you don't have the money for a new X2D then second hand market is a great place to look - for under £1500 you can get one of the H series with a 80mm lens (55mm equiv full frame)

Currently 28p 45p & 65 f2.8, but I should get the new 25v next week, and I’m 4th in line for the 90v, which I’ve been waiting months for! 28p is currently up for sale, and when the 90 lands the 65 is being sold. What lenses do you use?

I’m just on the 55v at the moment. It does more or less everything I need but I’m waiting for the 28p and the 90v… how do you know you’re 4th in line! That’s wild. 😅

Hi, in what file format you export from Phocus to Photoshop? Thanks.
@PhilTragen4 ай бұрын
Lately I've been exporting the selects at JPEG 6000px once I've got my basic process dialled in. I can do it as a TIFF if I really need a good job doing.

What are the specs of your MacBook? Do you have any problems with the large files? Thanks

Hi there - it's a 2021 m1 max, so decent but certainly not current any more. The main issue isn't the handling speed, although I notice Phocus is nowhere near as rapid as the adobe suite. It's the hard drive space this thing chews up! You'll need a terabyte minimum. :')

Try importing directly into the new version of Lightroom CC
@PhilTragen8 ай бұрын
It’ll be the same as the ACR processing right? Could be good for batch processing though…
@MarcAdesso7 ай бұрын
@@PhilTragen When you use LR CC (not classic), ACR does not get used. Might be the same color processing, but ACR does not open/pop up like it does in Photoshop. To me the utility of CC over Phocus outweighs the (at least to my eyes) minor color differences between the two pieces of software. Phocus drives me nuts. It's really too bad Capture One will never support Hasselblad!
@jimbrown45075 ай бұрын
@@MarcAdesso I’m experiencing similar results. Phocus images are cleaner/better than the LRC images, but when I go directly into LR CC (just LR now), the difference is really small to not noticeable. Definitely prefer the usability of the LR world rather than learning Phocus.

FFF into ur fav software. I would stick with Phocus and then tiff it after selecting the top photos. Make exposure adjustments in Phocus. Save it because that's the most quality from the camera. Then go into photoshop tiff save Prophoto color because of the print quality. Now you have Tiff unedited and Tiff edited. I done like photoshop jpegs because it strips a lot of information. I use Luminar Neo to make final adjustments for Jpeg average size is 80mb in Jpeg or higher. The quality is outstanding from any other platform I used. For high end shoots I give to my editor 16 bit Tiff from Phocus ProPhoto color uncompressed. Hope this helps let me know if you run into issues. Save and name the file presets so you don't have to keep repeating. Matt Grainger made a video about this.

Is it possible to pair the X2D with godox strobes?
@noenken6 ай бұрын
Hasselblad uses the Nikon iTTL protocol. So if you can get a Nikon trigger, your system will work.
@Keyboardwarrior426 ай бұрын
@@noenken thank you! I kinda tried it blindly and it worked! I couldn't imagine myself investing heavily into prophoto. Seems crazy to me to drop so much money on strobes where i could get 10 strobes for the same money from godox

Great camera but they have the worst software. It’s been over two months now my X2D will not connect to Phocus 2 app or even if I tether to my computer still unable to connect, it is unbelievable that Hasselblad is aware of the issue for two months ongoing and can’t figure out or fix their software that killed the camera now I am stuck with $40,000 worth of paper weights because I need my camera to be triggered remotely for the type of work I do!
@PhilTragen5 ай бұрын
Care to share some specs? I’ve found the phocus 2 app and tethering side quite seamless, though I find Phocus on desktop incredibly slow on an m1 MacBook. I use an IQ wire for tethering.
