Greetings from chilly Tokyo tonight! Thank you for watching this episode on ONSEN BATHS in Fukushima. What did you think? Leave a comment or question below. Which onsen was your favorite? I used to live in Fukushima and I'm so happy to be able to introduce these onsen to you, share the experience at so many places here! I made this is 6.5 days with the permission and help of the prefecture. It's a place close to my heart. I will have another video on Ryokan stays \ Japanese inns and Kaiseki cuisine in 10 days so definitely subscribe if you haven't already. I have some live streams on the ONLY in JAPAN GO (2nd channel) with behind the scene live streams with the making of this. kzbin.info/door/DsvL48jluG3tvlyurB4K3g *from mid November 2017. Photos on instagram.com/onlyinjapantv if you want to see more. I really appreciate the support from our community here! More content to come. -john

Hi John, all onsen looked fantastic, but i must say i fell in love with Shintsuta, the landscape was just great and the colors provided a beautiful frame for a relaxing experience. Btw, I am quite impressed with the drone shots, they were valuable additions to this video, since you not only experience the onsen but also the whole vibe of the different towns. Thanks for this video!

There is NOTHING that tops watching John visit these warm, inviting Japanese onsens on a super cold Minnesota USA winter night! Currently, here it is -10 degrees F (-28 degrees C) outside, with a wind chill of -31 degrees F (-35 degrees C). Dreaming of a warm onsen in Fukushima Prefecture on this cold night! Thanks John!

Only 2 dollars? i mean, i know sometimes japan can be cheap but how the heck they manage with all the job and bills to maintain a place like that? charging only 2 dollars per person...? they include bathrobe and fantastic service, that's incredible to me..

Mimizook ho-ho Thats what im saying, i get the hot water its free it obviously comes from the ground, and that government helps with taxes, but at 2 dollars price, that's only 600 bucks a month IF 10 people go there Every day, and i doubt they receive ten people every single day nor if they open every single day. So the thing that amaze me is how they can manage to have happy well educated employees and a spotless place with such a low income. What an extraordinary culture...

I can't speak for him but I assume it was done with a drone. They have become quite popular and common.

I've been looking forward to this video since you were visiting these places on your Go channel and mentioned it. It was informative and was interesting. All of the nature was so lovely. Thanks John for sharing this, and I'm looking forward to the Sento video coming soon. Thumbs up for a great presentation and the time it took to make this one. Thank you! ^^

Just how much of Fukushima was affected by the nuclear plant disaster? Were you near that area? Taking a hot bath while the temperature outside is below zero reminds me of the sauna I had available to me in the club house of an apartment complex I lived in in Marlboro Mass. After using the gym, and then the sauna, I'd walk back to my apartment holding my jacket. My body 'absorbed' the heat from the soak in the sauna, and I felt warm wearing just jeans and a tee shirt in the 20 degree (F) air. The Onsen bath must work the same way. What Japanese music did you use in the video background? I love the sound of those traditional string instruments.

Leopold, I hope you're being sarcastic. If not, I suggest you stop reading sites that are run by lunatics.

Probably the same experts that insist that global warming is a hoax. It IS true that fish mutated by the radiation have been found in many parts of the pacific, though those were probably species that feed or breed off the coast of Japan. I was originally hoping John would chime in with a 'Local's' observation.
