@@mosesracal6758 no. Hawker sea furies didn’t even use the R2800. They used the Bristol Centaurus. The Zero used the Sakae 14 cylinder radial, and modern reproductions/restorations use the R-1830.

I'm not a fan of the 109's shapes. Nose is too big, tail is too small, elevators are too high, the landing gear looks to delicate, the windshield is too vertical. The only thing 109's do that I prefer over other planes are the wing radiators.

Awesome hearing a real MB inverted V12. I consider the merlin powered 109 a fakershmit. Spitfire had the advantage of getting the best Rolls Royce engines. Mustang only had 2 versions of Packerard build merlins. If P 51 had the griffon it would have gone 500 mph+ .

Fakersmit thazs a good one it just loocks so wrong Fun fact: the Spanis did a bunch of these engine convertions after the war as they still had a big fleet but germanys factorys were shut down so they buyed a bunch of merlins and squeezed them in there. Result is an prety ugly Fakersmit :P

@@aendranireho6038- It's interesting to mention censorship and erase history in this case.Because, fascism is not a social phenomenon but a means of manipulating people for certain purposes.As such, its manifest forms are possible at any time, which again requires serious social engagement , which is again not possible due to the current evolutionary status of the human species.As I said, that only human freedom can be a unit of happiness exchange in the future. Insisting on trivial details, as in this case the swastika, returns our back and makes inevitable divisions.Do you think the insignia smiley at the swastika site would be interesting? @Anchorpin01
@Anchorpin01 5 жыл бұрын
Milou plop True, all variants of Sea Fury originally had the Bristol Centaurus engine. However, there were far fewer Centaurus engines manufactured in the war compared to the quantities of P&W R28000s, so my guess is this particular Sea Fury has been re-engined with a R2800 at some point later in life due to lack of replacement Centaurus engines. The R2800 is actually slightly smaller in diameter than the Centaurus (1342mm vs 1404mm respectively) - quite an achievement considering the R2800 had overhead valves compared to the Centaurus’ sleeve valve head - so would fit in the airframe easily.

My gosh my BF109 starts better than it. No smoke, and propeller spins in 1 second no less. Just kidding i have none, but the startup of BF109 is interesting

PaddyPatrone They could still display it if they insisted for historical reasons. I don't need it though. I'm a fan of german engineering, thus the political symbols that came with it are completely unecessary.

@@jasonharris630 The plane would fly without any paint on it. The fact that it`s airworthy is the most important for me. Sure there is historical correctness, but i can live with how it looks now. It`s just 3 drops of paint.
