I think it’s so nice that they are actually mentioning Bill Finger as the co-creator of Batman and everything Batman lore.

You know Bill Finger was a goat and deserves the fame when my man Denny O'Neil cites him before Bob Kane when saying on what they started Batman with. Just shows that it was Finger who came up with the persona and Bob Kane just the name (maybe some idea);

younger generation tends to not knowing dennis o'neil contribution to reintroduce Batman as dark and mysterious character, too bad that frank miller overshadowed his (eventough i admit miller TDK Returns and batman year one might still the most impactful CB in Batman History). Respect for O'neil and Miler.

Frank Miller only popularised Batman he didn't persay reinvent him,that was Neal he did what Frank did a decade before he did it.Younger generation if they are interested in the character will eventually learn the true history, evidence for this claim:I am a 15 year old right now and I love reading comics.

In addition to changing Batman, Denny O’ Neil also made Kryptonite a tasty treat, changed Wonder Woman (much to the dismay of Wonder Woman fans, in which he wasn’t very proud of), and gave names to the Transformers. He will be missed.

When Frank Miller went to DC the first thing he did was Ronin. That was the game changer that led to the Dark Knight. I don't know why the comic book guys and Warner Bros ignore that fact. Ronin was a brilliant piece of work unto itself and that's where you see Miller develop the style of art he ended up using for the Dark Knight.

Whenever I watch documentaries like these Denny O'Neil always seems to say "what I thought I did" in regards to returning Batman to his roots and he seems to really emphasize it in this as if he no longer believes it that's what he did. Either that he believes he didn't accomplish that goal or perhaps he looked back on the old stories and didn't think they were as dark as he remembered.
@badreality210 жыл бұрын
Or maybe he can't remember the exact details, because he's talking about accomplishments he made, 40+ years ago.

For "silly" read : "entertaining". The fad for grim 'n gritty superheroes should have died with Year One, DKR and Watchmen. Never liked the O'Neill/Adams iteration of Bats. Loved the Wagner/Grant/Breyfogle era though, classic stuff.
@jaredgarcia86385 жыл бұрын
Breyfogle is the one I tend to think of when I draw Batman
why when they do these retrospectives and when they talk about when Julie Schwartz changes batman they jump to Dennis O'neil and Neal adams which happend in the late 60's. They jump over the redesign in 1964 by Carmine Infantino. Yes It look like the show but without Carmine we wouldn't have the yellow over behind the batsymbol. I lover O'neil and Adams run on Batman but you can't just forget Infantino
