Absolutely LOVE everything you said. I have been fasting since 2020 and I cannot begin to explain how much the benefit OUTWEIGHS anything and I will be 51 this October. Thank you 😊 clearly I subscribed 🎉

I’m not worried about cortisol. I’ve been fasting intermediate since mid October 2024 and i feel GREAT. I’ve told others about it who are struggling with weight issues and some people take interest and others (the ones who would really benefit) poo-poo me and would rather continue doing what has not worked. So, such is life. I don’t compare myself to others….I AM my own science project and I’m working with my body to make wonderful discoveries. I am 4 lbs away from my goal (120 lbs) and it’s been a fun and exciting journey and food does not rule me. Oh and for anyone interested, I’m doing the 20/4 fast with the OMAD system in my 4 hour window. (OMAD=One Meal a Day) and I’m 73 years old.❤

@@accordionchick YES! Yes! And YES! I’d say you hit that goal if you are within 4 lbs. I like to give myself a +/- 10 pounds. Simply because our body is always adjusting a fluctuating. Thank you for sharing your experience! You are helping so many women. ❤️❤️
@accordionchick10 күн бұрын
@@DyAnnParham yes you are correct! And while my goal is 120 but my fluctuation window is gonna be 124-128. If my weight hits 129…..the bells will go off!!! LOL. And for those who are scared about trying this kind of “fasting”….don’t be….. this has been the MOST enjoyable way for me to lose weight so far and the best.

Well, I have to say, there have been MANY things that caused my cortisol levels to be elevated. Two marriages to two psychologically abusive men, the death of my mother, my sister and two brothers, losing my job due to a disability and subsequently my apartment and many other things. ( I am okay now). FASTING HAS NEVER EVER elevated my cortisol levels. When I fast, I FEEL THE BEST I HAVE EVER FELT in my entire life.

Definitely not a bad thing the IF. At least not for me. Apart from doing 18-20 IF for almost 4 years now, I have been running 10k every other day for 3 years. I was strongly advised - even as recently as today - not to combine IF with running 10k. But IF was what I believed in the most. I ignored all the absolutes that I heard and took my time to make both work together. The result: I have never gotten sick, I feel great, and my blood test results are always good! 😊

Thank you for the encouragement! I’m 57 & run an inn with my husband & a small staff, but it’s a 24/7 business. We typically fall into bed at night realizing that anything eaten has been hit or miss - grab & go! I love what we are doing at this stage of our life but since the onset of menopause, (about age 47), I’ve been packing on the weight, becoming less & less active. I feel this rapid process of decline & am desperate to slow it down! My lifestyle is challenging when it comes to schedules & complicated meal prep! I like the idea of a 20/4 fast & simply walking in the morning. This I believe I can do! Thank you for the advice & reality check!

Sept 2024 grad Dy Ann's fasting course (totally recommend) and I've had so much success with this mindset. I had been Intermittent Fasting prior to DyAnn and had some success but when I went to 24 hour fasting. It was a game changer. 20lbs lighter and cholesterol down. So, yeah I wouldn't worry too much about cortisol, I'd be more concerned doing nothing for weight and the overall health benefits of intermittent fasting, especially after 50 plus. And most Cardiologist support this lifestyle.
