The phone is upside down during the stock readings and right side up during the custom readings...hence the much larger difference between the two meters at idle. You're welcome ;)

@@AMMO-NYC the right way, because the mic (where it measures the sound) is in the buttom. so the SOUL clip reads false

@@AMMO-NYC To be honest the main problem with the pressure differences between those devices is the measure set up. The iPhone app measure the sound in dB Z (with Z frequency weighting, used for "flat" frequency response from 10 kHz to 20 kHz) and the noise dosimeter measure it in dB A (with A frequency weighting, similar to human perception). I knew someone who talked up the open/closed exhaust they'd eventually get on their project car. I asked them what the practical point was: would it help them make more power or be more efficient? Gotta say, your video answered questions they didn't, and the sound YOU got out of your exhaust is almost worth no performance change lol. thanks for the videos as always Larry. Larry is such a nerd and I love it! Most Rubes on KZbin wouldn't use a decibel meter and professional sound recorder for a new exhaust. Also Love the exhaust work but does anybody else think the cut out valve setup is unnecessarily complicated? Garage door opener, pickup a signal to an electronic controller which diverts some vacuum from the vacuum lines?? That's almost Rube Goldberg in design. I assume there's not an easier way to integrate?
