100% that's all we needed to hear about the process. "Ryan is in charge completely. Any input from myself or ownership will only be if Ryan asks for it, no more no less." If the org refuses to do it that way that means one of two things: Either they are dysfunctional and don't understand proper job roles, or they don't trust Poles to do the job properly. For the latter if that's the case then Poles should've been let go also. If you can't trust your GM to be the sole responsibility in hiring the coach, you can't trust them with anything.

nothing says ben johnson is going to be a great HC. hes got a stacked team with one of the best Olines in the league. hes got a veteran QB, He has probably the best 1-2 RB tandem in the game and a great WR core including TE. not sure if his success if due to the players or his coaching. but wouldnt be so quick to anoint him the next best thing.
