I didn't realize people didn't understand what a NBA dynasty was in 2024. To be classified as a dynasty you have to win at least 3 championships in 5 years. It's all about winning titles in a short time span. The Spurs were not a "dynasty" in the 2010's. Once you go a few years without winning your dynasty run has ended. After 2007 it took the Spurs 7 years to win again. That 2014 chip is NOT apart of their dynasty. Idk why Ron and Chill kept saying they were dominating for 20 years. That dynasty started in 03' and ended in 07'. In what world are you a better dynasty than a team that wins more than you? The 2015-2019 Warriors, The Showtime Lakers, The 90's Bulls, The 60's Celtics, and the Three-peat Lakers are all better than the Spurs.

Who created the rule that it has to be 3 chips in 5 years? Did Adam Silver implement that rule or something
@DontPxtch-MeАй бұрын

@teal2913 the world did considering they came up with the term relative to sports. Most teams that are considered a dynasty fit that criteria. The heatles won 2 in 4 years, went to the finals 4 seasons straight. Yet, most people don't consider the big 3 Miami heat a dynasty. Why? Because they didn't get that 3rd ring.

The lack of size may hurt the Warriors in the playoffs, but to completely write them off from the playoffs just shows the lack of nuance or just not paying attention to basic things. They have defensive versatility and enough shooting to win plenty games
@remnant8898Ай бұрын
They don't know what they're talking about, and their bias tends to get the better of them. The Warriors had lack of size in 2022, and won a chip. They currently lead the league in rebounds.
@lepidopteryАй бұрын
@@remnant8898 they're leading in raw numbers of rebounds per game, but the advanced stats show them as a great (not the best) oreb team, a kind of poor dreb team, and a good overall rebounding team. i think they get the high raw overall numbers because their pace is on the higher side and their defense is good and causes misses, so there's more potential drebs available even if they aren't the best at getting them. (they are genuinely great at orebs, though, thanks looney!)
@remnant8898Ай бұрын
@@lepidoptery let's ignore the raw numbers for a minute, and focus on averages which is more important. They are ranked 2nd in offensive Rebounds per game, 7th in defensive boards per game and 2nd overall. That's phenomenal.
@lepidopteryАй бұрын
@@remnant8898 averages are the raw numbers, though. advanced stats for rebounds is just oreb%, dreb%, and reb%, ie. what % of available orebs/drebs/rebs do they actually get. as of 11/14/24 before the grizzlies game they're 7th/23rd/10th respectively, so like i said, great(ish) at oreb, kind of bad at dreb, and overall good. they presumably average high numbers (outside of the oreb end) because their pace is highish and their defense is good so their opponents miss, and thus there are more drebs available to try to get. oh, also on the oreb end, aside from being good at getting them, they don't get many foul calls, so fga remain fga and there are more oreb available to get. 😑
@remnant8898Ай бұрын
@@lepidoptery Advanced stats in this regard are irrelevant. Most teams in the top 10 in dreb % have a losing record, and the one's that don't are barely over 500. Whatever your pace is, if you are outrebounding your opponent, offensively and defensively, you've got a high probability of winning.

That Curry 3 at the end is what’s wrong with the league today and why Luka will never win a championship. No shade to Curry cuz he did what he’s supposed to do… but switching your PF/Center on a shot creating guard is poor basketball and a lack of effort in defense. We seen the same shit happen with Luka and Rudy last year and everybody coming at Rudy like he can really guard Luka on the perimeter… he has to fight over that screen and make Curry put the ball on the floor or pass. Leaving your big out in no man’s land is by far the worst thing… this switching hurts more cuz these superstars are lazy on defense these days…

Marz, if the debate for the 5th spot is between the 2000 Lakers, Spurs, and Warriors, i do believe the Spurs are a top 5 dynasty and here's why: For the Lakers, I don't believe we would count the last 2 championships as part of the 2000 lakers Dynasty. The same way that we don't count 2017 as part of the Spurs dynasty, since Duncan was no longer there. The far and away best player who started the Dynasty during the Lakers 3 peat (Shaq) was gone. So its between the Spurs and Warriors. You mentioned the 73 win season (keep in mind, The Spurs were only 6 games behind that at 67 wins), but if you're going to mention those 73 wins, then you can't make points againsts the Spurs like "So they're a regular season dynasty" or "They're 5 for 20", since you agree that years you don't win the title can add to your Dynasties legacy IF you have a successful regular season. Not as much as a title, of course, but its certainly not as bad as "5 for 20" sounds.😂 That makes it sound like those 15 seasons were just "Misses", but the only true "Misses" would be missing the playoffs, which the Warriors did. That would be my argument 🤔

Steph doesn't need to go fast every single time, he definitely shows it but in smaller stints compared to the prime days. When you're old you have to conserve your energy. He's playing the old man's game now. Same thing Lebron has been doing. Gotta pick your spots wisely.

Marz am I trippin your reason for LeBron being the goat over Jordan is that in theory having someone play at that level for that long is better than having someone play at a similar or slightly higher level for longer. How would that not apply to the spurs ?is your argument that it’s not definitive?
