I've driven ecoboost trucks commercial and personal for 6 years. Compared to V8s yeah that 3.5 has power. I tow alot with it at work. Personal I own a 2019 f150 stx 2.7L. Yeah its not a V8 but I had to go through different combinations to get it to sound the way I wanted it. It does not sound bad. Plus I wouldn't worry owning a raptor. Its the only production truck that does everything. Just because its a bigger motor doesn't mean it's better. Bugatti veyron V12 been outrun by multiple cars with smaller motors. what v8 motor owners don't understand is that V6 motors have the torque which is what gets it up and goes. Plus can be tuned. Engine works harder and heavier with V8s.

@jaredchampagne27525 жыл бұрын
How slow the truck is? Dude the raptor is faster than a lot of sports cars were 10 years ago, in the right conditions it goes 0-60 in 5.1 seconds, that’s EXTREMELY fast for a 6,000lb pickup truck, are you crazy? What do you think its going to be as fast as a ferrari? Cmon now, that’s the very fastest truck you can buy on the market, it puts you back in your seat like crazy! You clearly haven’t driven one.

@@jaredchampagne2752 I'm not saying the Ranger Raptor is slow (or has that particular braking performance). Manual shifting with the paddles was designed for the high speed driving off road Baja desert style, not for road comparisons to other cars with manuel shifters. If a Raptor was actually driven on high speed desert roads the shifting speed through the gears would seem flawless and fast. No one really cares about the exhaust sound in the new Raptor, except KZbinrs, no offense. Coz everything else about it makes up for it. The TT engine is blisteringly fast for a bulky pickup truck. And all wrapped up in a beautiful body. Still loving my 18.
@garys21575 жыл бұрын
The paddle shifting is for playing, pretending you're doing something, letting the transmission work as it can and was made to do, will give better results. Do agree with you about the exhaust, the motors power and how it gives that power is impressive.

We almost purchased a raptor but even my wife just couldn't get over the fact that it has a v6 instead of a v8! Yes I know power wise it shouldn't matter but you know what it's not the same without a v8! I wonder how even more popular it would be if Ford had kept the v8? It's the same issue with the ford excursion! It only has a v6! Wife loved the excursion but just couldn't believe we couldnt get it with a v8 so we wound up getting a gmc Yukon Denali as it has a 6.2 v8! I dont know what ford is thinking but they have lost us a customers with the only exception of the mustang as it's the only "pony car" that's v8 can easily handle boost in stock form! Something my challenger cant do as the 392 won't survive being boosted! I just dont understand why ford doesnt take the same mentality it has toward the mustang and implement it the rest of its line up! It even kills me that fords "v6's" dont even get better gas mileage than a v8 ! Lol!! Just doesnt make any sense!

My wife put 20k on the silverado 4x4 in 6 months. Zero issues. Of course it's 5.3 naturally aspirated and not turbo with EGR problems.

😂 really??? I put 60 thousand miles on my car in 1 year. Don’t ask me what I do but 15k it’s nothing. I hope is a v6 engine, your truck.
