Jim Morrison and his dad were in the middle of the greatest "generation gap" in history. They were literally brought up in two completely different times in history. His father was old school and Jim was in the first generation that really broke free of their parents era and values.

I could see the CIA funding Rock music and even the New age movement to drive a wedge between generations. The purpose: To separate children from their parent's core values, and turn them into pawns of the State. Children nowadays are taught that Institutions have the authority and the moral high ground. Parents are a burden with their outdated culture. Grandparents are forgotten all too soon. It is a sad state of affairs.

"Broke free" into a meaningless void of narcissism and nothingness. Morrison was one of the most overrated "poets" of his generation. At least Bob Dylan has some coherent things to say about relationships and cultural change. Morrison was just an LSD saturated freak.

I agree with you to some extent. The Doors were still a pretty big concert draw into 1970 probably because of both 'Light my Fire' and later, 'Touch Me', huge hits. Jim Morrison was a Navy Brat that was moved all around the country, listen to one of his songs, where he describes driving with his family and they come up on a car wreck in the desert. Jim seeing these bodies of Indian's laying in the road dieing and seeing their, "SOUL'S LEAVING THEIR BODIES!" Jim Morrison was a Poet and most his songs were DARK AS HELL! Like, "THE END" I believe it was Jim's subconscious really wanting to Kill his own Dad for treating him like a piece of property growing up in the military. THE DOORS were a kick ass band and Jim Morrison was an incredible Artist and writer. It's no Fing wonder why he eventually moved to Paris. He had to get away from all the chaos going on in the USA back in the late 60's and early 70's. Trust me I know because I was born back then and had two older brothers. Those were the day's good times! Joe, Jim Morrison was not in the CIA 🤣 LMAO 😂 Also JOE, "VAL KILMORE" IS A METHOD ACTOR! JUST LIKE AL PACINO IS IN, "SCARFACE !" STILL 😂 LMAO 🤣 ENOUGH SAID!!! ✌️

The book is Weird Scenes Inside The Canyon. Fun fact, Jim Morrison and Frank Zappas wife went to the same naval kindergarten. Rolling Stone even reported on how when they were children, Zappas wife hit Morrison in the head with a hammer. Years later they were practically neighbors in the Canyon

1:10 the U.S. Navy has no “general”. Rear Admiral is the equivalent to a Brigadier General in every other branch of the military. So he is a “general” technically.

My good friend was a studio musician at Decca in Paris when Morrison died. He’s a pretty sober, no bs Chicago guy, he swears the death was fake and he saw him after the death, I know he believes it and I don’t think it’s outside the realm of possibility. Tangentially, I read an interview with an F.B.I. Profiler in The New Yorker when Silence of The Lambs came out he said “We know exactly how to create a serial killer” and went on to explain that it was b movies and the time between sexual arousal and bloodletting on screen . I take that guy literally, they create serial killers, he meant what he said.

@IlIlIlIlIlIlIlIlIlIlIlIlI basically wanted people to not "think" but to "feel" when making choices. The 60s was actually the beginning of the whole "woke" problem we have now. There's a bit of literature on this, and I'm sure you could find more Info here on KZbin that goes I to greater detail.
