I can’t believe all that you’ve gone through with that watch. You’ve undoubtedly learned a lot, and so have I. I’ve learned that I’ll never buy one of those turkeys. Thanks for sharing your experience. Carry on...

Don't stereotype all watches by one. I'm still thinking that this watch was magnetized and I've purchased a demagnetizer to see if I can fix the original movement.

I work on pools for a living and there are stems on certain valves that take o-rings. Found out the long way that those also take two o-rings. Guess it's more universal than one would think!

Interesting fact. I wonder why two rather than one bigger one. Maybe two are more secure. Thanks

@@adventureswithtimeI guess two gasket design lasts longer as secondary gasket will take less beating even if the first one fails

I hear some crowns have another gasket placed well inside the crown, that gets squeezed hard against the tube-face when tightened up - this gasket alone sounds more effective at stopping water entering, than the one or 2 O rings that you replaced on the stem, as these ones slide back and forth inside the tube. But both types working together seem a good design.

I didn’t know that.

Wow who knew hah? Very weird indeed! I would have never guessed such a thing as a commun rule is to never stack gaskets in order to assure watertightness.

I don't know very much about gaskets; but you seem to know a lot.

Hi, i have a blancpain villeret 40mm watch in stainless steel 2 years old (2020) watch and i noticed that it is stiff when i try to wind it. It has 72 hours power reserve. Example: When i wind it, it is tight.. I have to pull out the crown then i have to push it back in, in order for it to be buttery smooth when i wind it. It keeps excellent time BUT it is just stiff/tight if i wind it without pulling out the crown and pushing it back in first.. feels like resistance.. Any idea on what could it be? I dont have warranty. My jlc reverso is so smooth , i dont have to pull out crown and push back in for it to be smooth wind. Which type of silicone/oil for the crown gasket do you recommend?

Maybe it needs a cleaning

Sir I wanted to replace my seiko tube but according to seiko it’s integrated (pressure fitted ) in case hence entire case need to be replaced. Is possible to get tube only for my seiko ?
@adventureswithtime3 жыл бұрын
I don't know if the tube is welded to the case. Shop on ebay and you may find out.

Hello, i have an skx007 with aftermarket crown. It also takes 2 gaskets. Could you share where you ordered the gaskets and what size please.
@adventureswithtime2 жыл бұрын
I remember I purchased it off ebay. But I don't have the information anymore since ebay only keeps that for 90 days. Search around and I"m sure you'll find the information somewhere on the internet. That's what I did.

Hey, thanks for the informative video. I'd be really grateful if you could help me figure out if just rotating a crown of a 50m water resistant Seiko 5 at idle position where it has no effect in winding or changing day date/time under a feet of water cause water damage?"

I'm not sure if it will. Sorry.

Probably will be fine, but I do not recommend doing it deliberately

What is the size and/or part number for the gaskets you used? If you don't mind me asking. Thanks.
