I’d love to see how he handles a class where many don’t have the requisite strength to even kip swing. I like to practice arches and hollows with feet planted on a lower bar for those folks.

Scapular pull-ups to develop strength in the shoulder prior to swinging

This is a great suggestion. We let Todd know about that idea. That said, hollow/arch with feet planted is definitely a go-to option!
@toddocchiuto44913 ай бұрын
@cathicakes I love that option and that’s exactly what I would do as well. I’ll even continue through the knee raises with one foot remaining on the ground and one knee coming up at a time.

Right!? Or those with limited shoulder mobility! Not so easy!
@spencergsmith3 ай бұрын
@@jimmycisneros5920 mobility can be improved through controlled, full ROM movements, but if swings are painful for the athlete, then perhaps a substitution such as GHD sit-ups or V-ups would be useful while they work on rehabbing their shoulder through banded pull-aparts or external rotation presses.

This is by no means a realistic class: - His demo is absolutely below average, he bends his needs on his arch positions - All his progressions where empty reps, I didn’t record any specific or general que other than (ara boy mat, which I don’t even understand), second one was good Erin. - His crew was all staged, all of them had toes to bar. If you want to create realistic content please film a real class, with real people that have less than 1 year experience in CrossFit. Imaging if he had 2 new athletes, 2 injured aging athletes and two athletes who even can’t hang, that’s a real class. Let me see how he handles that then we will see how strong is his level4. I am sorry guys but this is weak

You have a solid point for me there. That’s far from being a “regular” class

hahahah. Ill make a video response for ya. 😁

@@thecoachesguild yes please. The end goal from me on this channel is to know how to coach better. In my four years, I’ve never coach any lessons in where all the athletes can do t2b

To make your scenario more challening: add 2 Quarterfinals (or higher) athletes in there who can string 20+ ttb and who are standing there bored, trying to find any value in your coaching. I was surprised when seeing this advertised as "L4 coach" as well. On top of the bad demo. I heard the name Meridith 4 times and everyone else was just "doing great". He wasn't correcting or helping anyone with anything. No one seemed particularly focused on his cues (including himself) probably because they all already have the movement down. This is group managment, not coaching.

There isn’t much correcting in this… the older gentleman over on the right could use some help. Also… lucky everyone has T2B! :)
