If you're trying to short or ride inverse ETFs, the single biggest threat to the thesis is that the fed and us government start QE and printing too early, and asset prices never crash at all. We could very easily go straight to the double digit annual inflation world without the S&P ever dropping below 4500 again. That's why it's difficult to make money off of the train wreck that everyone sees coming.

Everyone of any intelligence always, always, always, says timing is the hardest thing to get in the market. David has been stedfast in his analysis and targets. It is now being proven right. Anyone with any sense should at least pay real attention, and personally evaluate, the evolution of his unfolding market predictions. Persnally I have concluded he is right and am investing accordingly.

I was extremely impressed by David's call for a melt-up when all were pessimists (including me!). He looks as though he combines hard analysis with psychic abilities (and by the way, someone who predicts by analysis is really another form of psychic!). I recommend him all the time to friends. Rosanna is an excellent host. A VERY valuable discussion.

It’s impossible to have a “secular bear market” like he said, with a 25% inflation yearly, because with so high inflation, people buy assets , real estate, gold etc; but also buy stocks to defend by inflation. For example, Venezuela and Turkey with iper inflation had a parabolic run on their index, and not a bear market!

I think the issue is he is still saying the Fed tightened too far. In my mind, they actually stayed low too long. At this point, he has ben forecasting a large melt up and then a bust. The key is the Fed balance sheet. The idea that we can monetize debt for the government just means printing money.

Agree as I said in the podcast! ZIRP was too much and we stayed there too long. Banking crisis is a symptom of too loosened monetary policy and practically zero rates. Free money is never free.

Put on more positive people like Roppell. David keeps the average person out of investing and missing out on the eighth wonder of the world. His predictions are so extreme it's ridiculous and nuts.. These pessimists are a dime a dozen and always sound smart but the next big market drawdown will be something that happens that nobody is talking about and nobody knows when it will happen but it will. The long term investor realizes this and are optimists who are generating wealth for themselves and their families. The down draws are the cost of outsized returns.💲💵

why doesnt anyone that interviews david ask him where one should be positioned when the bust occurs 2024 and into 2025? everything drops in a bust and usually wealth flocks to US$ and TLT on the way down and then switches into gold/ silver / commodities for the recovery but this time seems very different? i felt you bounced around too much rather then gaining a clear path for your audience on where to invest in the forthcoming recession. I'm starting to appreciate what David is saying about the wall of worry and trading the opposite of crowds - my conspiracy theory is that the market's trying to take retail accounts to zero. Given this premise/goal, the Efficient Market Hypothesis is spot on. If you think about it, it's essentially a form of MMT, why wouldn't the gov support this? lol

Anybody who owns a Treasury Bill, Bond or Note. Social Security owns tons of these bonds. The deep state hates Trump, but the big state needs Trump to negotiate who gets stiffed on all this debt. No one has more experience dealing with creditors in bankruptcy.

Money doesn’t go anywhere, it disappears. Debt is deflationary, one person’s debt is another’s asset. Markets are primarily mark to market based on a single trade price. Trillions of assets are priced to a very small trade value.

@@user-lb8bg6kj9m Yes! I attribute it to leads and lags. I think that seems to be a big part of what macro analysts get wrong..they understand causes but markets run on psychology.
