I went to a Wednesday matinee last month, I can't believe this show has closed, I would hope it goes on to great success. The leads, the cast are amazing. But also the sound is great, they have great sound tech in that theatre! But I really hope they will bring it to us in Europe, it will probably get an entirely new lease of life! ❤🎉

AMBER IMAN IS SO INCREDIBLE!!! (she is getting a tony nom fo sho) first time seeing her perform. also george abud is absolutely insane, "perfection" is my favorite number. this is a show is a celebration of love, ambition and the timeless power of art. stunning visuals as well, love the use of the lighting on stage. i will say the choreography was.....interesting. overall i enjoyed the show a lot

I think everyone talking about the “pop-ness” of this musical is missing that this show is about the woman who redefined modernism in art. The whole point is that she was the modern woman in that time, for me it makes sense that her music feels more “pop” because, like her art, it has the sense of being modern. I also like that “perfection” sounds very artificial, as he is singing about his love for the future of machinery and the reflection in art. To me it makes a lot of sense.

There are very few times she's not flat when you see it, score is a mess. There's a lot of pitch issues in this whole clip but I don't blame it on the actors

Okay I saw this show in previews on Friday night. I have a lot to say about it. I think they're trying to top Hamilton, and theyre trying too hard to do it. Generally the music is very stereotypical Broadway music with very modern pop aspects. I'm glad theyre working to normalize lesbians/gay people in general and struggles with the feeling of despair, but theyre forcing it in way too hard. It's very pushed throughout the whole show, and I don't enjoy it when its forced like that. There was two songs I'll probably listen to again, one of them being Perfection, but what I will say is I'm probably very biased about that as someone who knows George Abud because he directed my school musical in fall of 2022. I think some of the lyrics are really poorly written, and some of the acting was really cheesy. I think if they work their asses off they can make this concept work really well, but they only have to April 14th to do it, so we'll all have to see. The story is well told, and the stage is beautiful, there's just little things like that which make it not as good of an experience, and I'm really disappointed because the same woman who directs this directed Hadestown across the street, which I saw on Saturday and it was just phenomenal.

No idea who the composers for music and lyrics for this show are, but this is gonna fail so badly. The concept, visuals, and storyline can stand on its own, but why is the music scored as watered-down melody lines backed by boring 4-chord pop-song chord progressions? Even in the explosive opening number…it just sounds like a more “epic” 4-chord pop song. It’s such a mismatch to a musical about the Russian Revolution.

Matt Gould is the composer and he’s not good at it. He’s been trying to get this up forever and you’d think a decade of work would yield better results… but here we are Broadway 2024 where literally no one cares about good music composition anymore. I would never pay to listen to over two hours of this.
@FlyBoyMT8 ай бұрын
@@1Trollcat A DECADE? Wow… yeah there’s just no excuse at that point. I’m surprised that someone would even take this to Broadway with the music the way it is. Maybe it’s a desperate attempt to attract a younger audience base to keep Broadway alive. Stunt casting and watered-down music…that’s the new face of Broadway. This would have NEVER gotten past the out-of-town tryout even just 10-15 years ago. SMH

Have you ever seen it? Also, it's receiving great reviews since opened. Also, It played at 2 other theaters/festivals. It is not easy to get onto Broadway (duh) especially if it's not an already well known story. It takes some movies 10 years to be made, so what's your point?

You can always always judge if a show will be worth your time and money by what they put out to the public to get them in the doors. So far you have years of Woman Is which is completely forgettable except to young girls who enjoy screlting for no reason and now this. Ugly sets, ugly lighting, ugly choreo that feels massively distracting and just boring boring music. I would never pay Broadway prices for this. Cry about it... Broadway needs to give us better for what they demand we pay them. This is a huge swing and a miss for Chavkin and I look forward to the reviews next month which I would bet all my money on are not going to be positive.
