When people are committing violent crimes, evading the police as in this pursuit, and who are a danger to other people; they should forfeit their civil rights until taken into custody. In other words, deadly force to stop them.

This is embarrassing. No wonder CA has become so lawless if this is the way police handle a car chase.
@davefoc
@davefoc Жыл бұрын
I think this is a statistics question and the Southern CA law enforcement seems to believe a policy of doing nothing other than following except in very unusual situations is the safest. I thought this might be one of the those unusual situations where they would be more proactive. When the guy was repeatedly driving on the wrong side of the road I thought they would stop him at the first opportunity. I guess not. Arizona seems to be much more proactive in stopping these chases. They've got some heavy vehicles they use to trap or smash the car and they have a gadget that gets shoved under the back wheels to attach to the car being chased.

I was the person who suggested that RUNAWAY (from the police) drivers be terminated on the spot when the chase is over. Even though I was obviously joking someone reported me and my comments were removed. On the contrary, I believe that when the perp finally gets out of jail they should get a $10,000 bonus for each mile of the chase, receive $20,000 for each day spent in jail, $5,000 for each non-participating car damaged and $7,500 for each pedestrian hit. Also, they should also get their own nightly TV show and receive for that $100,000/year. If the motive for fleeing is a felony these stated amounts would triple. Ending each show would be a replay of the runaway event. They should also receive a free Hennessey Venom F5 car and have permission to speed and drive recklessly without fear of legal repercussions. These guys (usually) should be rewarded for providing unending entertainment to visitors of this website.

"This driver is so erratic" "No regard for anyone's safety, including their own" Police aren't following for "safety concerns." Such BS hamstringing Law Enforcement on these pursuits. If you are drunk and a CHP officer sees you weaving and assumes you are drunk you will be taken down NOW. But a guy driving as badly as ANY DUI I've ever witnessed is left to wander around with HUNDREDS of possible fatalities along the way of this 1:04 hour drive... NO, we gotta sit back and "observe." Our legislators in California should be imprisoned...

Yeah, possibly considering the majority of chases are very short lived and multiple suspects will jump out of the car and run in different directions...you just wont see many of them on KZbin though because of how short they are...regardless 25 is nothing compared to 9,000 (or about 5,000 that are on duty)

Look at the way the perp drives: looking far ahead for open spaces in traffic, extremely quick & close reaction time to miss oncoming traffic, knows he's in a powerful, large, vehicle that's able to simply roll over curbs & medians, thinks strategically to avoid dead ends...the way he acts behind the wheel, able to weave through traffic for that long, that HAS to be specialized training. The kind that either cops or firefighters & EMT's have...or the kind that SEALs & SpecOps undergo for evasive driving in hostile areas. So, are we watching the result of a former cop or operator who went off the deep end?
