She looked so sad and confused in that car. I don't feel it's fair to get her comfortable and finally happy just to make her go into another home where it's a new change of environment, people and having to learn to trust all over again. You wouldn't do this to a child so why is it different for a pet? Should of kept her.

fosters recover animals, take care of them until they go to their homes. they also suffer a lil saying goodbye. i still keep contact with the foster of my current dog and how happy she is now. if she hadnt fostered her, my dog would have probably stayed in the streets and probably hit by a car
@Karajorma3 жыл бұрын
@@stayoffmyballs4907 You realise that would mean she had less space and time for her to foster another dog who desperately needs her. I don't begruge someone who decides to keep a dog they fostered, but I absolutely celebrate anyone who is willing to put their feelings aside so that they can do it again and rescue another dog (probably several dogs) from a life in a no-kill shelter or being put down. I honestly can't understand why someone would demand this dog stays with her foster when the obvious end result of that would be the death of other dogs.

For people wondering about the foster transfer. Rest assured you go through many protocols just to become a foster parent, including how to let them go to their forever home. Many places have the forever home picked out within the 1st month of fostering. They introduce them slowly till they can get to the point of transfer. The dogs or cats will be confused or sad but that usually only happens for the first few days, which is why most forever families are encouraged to super attentive during this point. Some fosters will do a weening off period as well, they will visit the new home for about 2 weeks, while increasing amount of time between visits. If the dog or cat is having a particularly hard time the families reassess their options from there. A lot of these lovely animals will live years and years with their forever home. A few days of being confused is a minor thing in the grand aspect of leading a happy life. Foster parents of any caliber are amazing, they also feel the sting of having to leave these animals, but they do it so they can help the next litter of kittens who lost their mom or the next puppy who was neglected, they know it will hurt to say goodbye, but it is a a necessary sacrifice to help those in need. They are heros heroes through and through.

People usually don't develop the same close emotional bond with animals as the number increases. The first two may be hard, but the rest should not be. The brain quickly adjusts to establishing a more distant relationship like happens between a doctor and patient. Restoring an animal's health and life is very satisfying. You'll find yourself chasing that good feeling rather than wanting to keep all of them. If the majority of people today would lose their automatic "could never" attitudes, the world would be a far better place for everyone.
@samantha.mariam4 жыл бұрын
I thought this too but i recently rescued a cat that was the sweetest cat I’ve ever met! Unfortunately I was only visiting the country and had to go back to my own. So I knew I could only foster them (it was 1 at first but then he kept bringing his brother). I thought I’d have like a void in my heart (dramatic but if you’re an animal lover you’ll understand) when i got them adopted out but seeing them happy in their forever home where they never have to worry about all the dangers of being on the street...etc made everything worth it and there’s a sense of fulfilment. But it's similar to children who are in foster care and then finally get adopted.
@ElysetheEevee5 жыл бұрын
Blair Aria Van der Kamp Except even most children would have SOME capacity for understanding what’s taking place. They would also likely try to explain to them on their own terms what’s taking place. You can’t easily do that with an animal like a dog or cat. For them, they’d wake up one day expecting a routine or certain things to happen, they notice things aren’t the same and something big is happening directed at them, and then suddenly they’re leaving someplace else. They can hope the next place will as forgiving and nice as the last place they for taken to, but based on past experiences, they can’t know that for sure. They have no way to ask and they won’t know until they’re already thrust into the situation. That HAS to be terrifying. I would imagine a lot of non-verbal disabled children could go through similar things if they had enough of a communication barrier going on. Even then though, they’re still human and still understand at least SOME human behaviors on a biological level...so there would be SOME minute understanding even above a dog or cat in the same situation. Imagine if aliens we’d never seen before, that had societies and technology unlike anything we could’ve imagined did things like these do us. Why do you think alien abduction and the like is such a popular horror/psychological thriller subject in sci-fi genres?

I really believe that the kindness dogs experience goes into a kind of stored up memory of kindness, creating an optimistic expectation. So the kindness received from a foster parent although specifically related to a person at the time, can be added to with later kindnesses from other owners. As someone commented elsewhere, fostering isn’t about us, it’s about creating and adding to that store of kindness memories which the dog can transfer to its present owner. Dogs do get attached to people, of course they do, but they also live in the moment, and if the kindness continues, the attachment drops and becomes gratitude and their world continues to be benign.

Upper Sweaty balls That’s very subjective. I personally really do find the dog to be a cute, nice looking dog. If you find it “hideous,” thats your opinion, but there’s no reason to spread unnecessary negativity.

I felt kinda bad when she went to the other family. I’m sure they love her but she went through so much with the foster family

@@Rainy78 i know! it is so very sad!! Animals bond with us and see us as family, not themselves as property. And fostering is a wonderful things, but I don't think she was a candidate for being rehomed because she has such a soft and fragile spirit. She should have stayed. I fostered and was in this same situation but i realized carlee had made friends with my other pets and she had bonded with me and I knew her spirit was one of those that should not be rehomed, so two years later, she is happy and with us, in her forever home, with her forever family. This dog was hurt and her little spirit was broken, you could see it in her eyes. So upsetting.

Yeah she looked so confused and it was heartbreaking....but if it wasn't for the foster family adopting her she would have probably died....

I've never understood how anyone could abuse and neglect any living thing.. It's sick and heart breaking. Thank God though that there are plenty of people willing to step in and help.

People are so irresponsible with their children which is heartbreaking and boggles the soul. So animal abuse is seen so often and there is little chance of making them accountable. If I could I would keep all of them.....so sad.

The personality of this dog is just beyond words amazing! So rewarding to see her open up, be happy, and so affectionate. I really hope the new owners treat her well
