Brian May on guitar really gets that 50's rockabilly sound, especially on his solo. Great tune.

They also did two soundtracks for movies. Highlander and Flash Gordon.

Yes, Queen was a rock band. The overwhelming majority of the songs they played sit very comfortably in the middle of the rock spectrum. From the proto speed metal of Queen II to the synth driven drivel of Hot Space, it was all rock and roll.

So many great Queen songs to choose from next. I vote for Death on Two Legs.

This song was born in Freddie's bathtub (really) in Munich in about 10 minutes and then Freddie rushed into the studio to record it. The song was written as a tribute to Elvis. Pls, check out the live version at Wembley 86.

One Queen song that always takes music reactors by surprise is Cool Cat. It's a deep cut off their allegedly least liked album. I don't see it much going around lately, so maybe it's time for you to check it out 😉

I’ve been a fan of them since the early seventies. Something I learned about them just a few years ago is the fact the song writing, at least on their long list of hits, is amazingly distributed evenly among all four of the band members. It adds an extra ‘wow factor’ to this band’s talent.

For some rockabilly, check out Elvis Presley "Blue Suede Shoes", "(You're So Square) Baby I Don't Care", and Carl Perkins "Honey Don't", "Matchbox" to start, probably also Bill Haley & The Comets "Rock Around the Clock", "See You Later Alligator", and "Shake, Rattle And Roll" -- and some Big Joe Turner "Flip Flop & Fly" and "Corrine, Corrina". And for some off the path rockabilly, check out "Mama Don't Love Me No More" by Pinnochio James, "I'm Gonna Tell on You" by George Fleming, and "Evil Hearted Woman" by Drifting Charles.

John Deacon’s bass lines were always just perfectly made to enhance the song. Both tastefully constructed and skillfully played.

This was Freddie (and Queen) paying homage to Elvis Presley, who was a huge influence on British rock music... He also emulated Little Richard on the hit "Don't stop me now"...Queen started as a rock band, but they wanted to break all the labels to their music and even released disco, funk and pop songs in the 80's.

This is kind of a cheesy Queen song. If you want to hear some really good Queen, listen to: "Get Down Make Love". It's a Banger.
