He is the god of the underworld (which contains the all the afterlife including paradise and hell) and commonly mistaken as the god of death. 2. He is one of the three most powerful gods alongside Zeus and Poseidon. 3. He didn't really get involved with the mortal/living realm to much.

@@BillyBinges Hades was the chillest God he didn't go around causing problems or cheating on his wife and he let everyone else fight while he just sat in the Underworld doing his never ending paper work he was in charge of not only Eslyum (heaven) and the fields of punishment but, the Fields of Asphodel, and to an Extent Tartrus where quite a few of the titans are locked away, Zues could not have saved the world from the Titans with out his brothers and sisters even if he saved them and Zues is the root of almost all problems in greek mythology. This movie would have been alot better if it was actually Heracles' story instead of Perseus' the trials would have been cool to watch as the core of the movie

It sucks when people learn later in life that in the real mythology Zeus was actually the bad guy god and Hades was the only “good guy” god by default.Hades in the myth is the chillest god in the pantheon. He sticks to hell and does his job, has a faithful relationship with his wife, and has a loyal dog, along with giving people pretty good deals. It’s the exact opposite with Zeus. Hercules was a tragedy who killed his first wife and kids after Hera cursed him after learning that Herc was born from an affair Zeus had. Sad lol XD.
@MaxusFox233 жыл бұрын
The notorious bad thing Hades did was kidnapping Persephone (his future wife)... who was his own niece. Oh, and then make Persephone eat pomegranate seeds (from Hell), thus unknowingly tying her to Hell for 6 months each year. Still a much better record in comparison to Zeus... or most of the greek gods, in that sense.
@silversamurai02673 жыл бұрын
@@MaxusFox23 He didn't really kidnap her, so much as just retrieved the bride he was given by Zeus. He wanted Persephone, and Zeus, as her father, said go ahead and have her. The uncle/ niece relationship is pretty damn normal for the time frame this takes place in, so you can't really use that as a negative against Hades. Persephone herself is already the result of incest via the SIBLINGS Zeus and Demeter. As for the pomegranates... while it was wrong, can you really blame a guy, who has already been cheated many times over in the past, for wanting to ensure that the wife he loves eventually comes back to him? And good thing he did, because even though they're married, he only gets her for 1/3 of the year thanks to Zeus and Demeter belatedly interfering. And even with having the better portion of the year, Demeter still throws a tantrum the moment Persephone is gone again. And, ultimately, Hades and Persephone DO care about one another. They're both incredibly faithful to one another, especially when you compare them to literally every other God in the pantheon. Hades is a fair husband, treats her well and doesn't cheat on her. All he asks for in return is that she comes back to him. Persephone literally got the jackpot of husbands.
@MaxusFox233 жыл бұрын
@@silversamurai0267 I think the problem here is that Zeus gave Persephone away behind Demeter's back, and Helios was the only one decent enough to tell her how her daughter disappeared from the face of the Earth? Like I dunno, but Demeter "throwing a tantrum" over something BOTH MOTHER AND DAUGHTER didn't get a proper saying to in the first place is rather justified imo. Then again, this is Zeus we're talking about aka Mr. Idowhateverthefuckiwantanddoitwithwhoeverifuckingwant... Oh, and friendly reminder that Zeus disguised himself as Hades at some point to get it on with Persephone...

The actress that voiced Meg (Susan Egan) was the original Belle in Broadway's Beauty and the Beast, and fought for a change that would remain in the musical today. When Beast scares Belle and she runs away, Egan stated Belle promised she would stay with Beast in exchange for her father, she wouldn't leave unless she thought her life was in danger. The script got changed so that when Beast is yelling at Belle, he accidently rips her sleeve. That's what scared her away. BTW - the Beauty and the Beast Broadway soundtrack - OMG!!!!!

I was just going to mention this but decided to check to see if someone else already had! That soundtrack is amazing. Either way, seeing her with the other actresses that played Disney princesses is fantastic.

I mean... In the movie he did scream at her to get out... She just took that literally and got _completely_ out. And also like, he was tearing that room apart like a complete lunatic, I totally get why she'd be scared he'd hurt her too. An extra ripped sleeve doesn't make much difference imo.

It made me so happy when he did the Nutty Professor "Hercules! Hercules!" chant, it's the first thing I think of when I hear that name hahaha and you should definitely do Brave next!! It's a Pixar/Disney collab about a Scottish girl named Merida!! #bingers

😂😂😂 13:27 your eyes when you said "I get it!!" Just made my day. This is my all time favorite Disney movie 😍 and I'm so glad I watched this commentary to find someone that appreciates it just as much as I do!! Loved the reaction! #Bingers I would love to see some more 80's classics!! Along the lines of Goonies, Romancing the Stone, Never-ending Story. Just some options to look at and think about.

I need to admit, in real Greek Mythology, Hades is like, the nicest and best god ever. Everything he does is all based on good intentions and never goes wrong. And the way he's portrayed, it feels so relatable. He wants to be included and say a lot, but he's an introvert. He's the best, but he needs a better villain song. Also, Hades was supposed to rely on the fact that meg wouldn't get hurt. What if she tripped? THAT would break that promise instantly.

Hercules's singing voice was Roger Bart. He is a Tony Award-winning Broadway musical performer and has been in tons of movies and TV shows. On Broadway, he did a musical version of Mel Brooks 'Young Frankenstein' playing the Gene Wilder role. He was also in the film version of the Mel Brooks musical 'The Producers'. He won the Tony playing Snoopy (the dog) in the musical 'You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown'. The voice of Megara was Susan Egan, who before this worked for Disney in their first Broadway stage musical...as Belle in 'Beauty and the Beast'.

Yo, you can’t not sing along with the music in this movie. It’s so good! 😁 Also super hyped that you’ll be watching the princess movies, too! There’s some real comedy gems in some of the older ones that I just did not pick up on as a kid. 😂
