Good information, I can't wait until we get mine on methonal. Car sounds sweet too ABT

Really curious if high compression na engines would need much tuning outside the timing tables in manifold air temp? Not much info on na out there, what afr would need to be targeted when juice is added at a progressiverate? My Dad worked on steam induction many years ago and always said leaning the fuel tables and adding spark helped improve economy by about 5% in a V8 while maintaining epa standards. Not to mention super cleaning action.

Well I know this is an old comment, But im currently tuning a water/methanol kit with #6 nozzle on a 3.0l v6. Granted im running a halt ech ecu and they have a seperate fuel and ignition timing tables specific to water injection. If your running a ve table your ecu will automatically reduce fuel to hit your target afr. But you do need to advance the timing. Going for 2 more degrees of timing which was the amount we pulled for safety during the original tune. Then start adding more. Probably goingvto run into diminishing returns before it knocks considering its on 260gtx 100 octane gas. And water/methanol for temp control.

I recently installed a 1000cc nozzle on my twin turbo bmw. I have done fuel and ignition tuning for it, but I was was wondering if I should be targeting a different afr because of the added methanol. Also, should I be changing spark plug heat range and gap ? 70% meth/water

Do you have a video for the c7 z06 using the snow performance coolant container and pump mounting it under the hood instead of in the fender

Really, 2-3 deg decrease in temp? I think you better check that you system is working / activating.

I wouldn’t be looking at afrs to determine if the methanol is effecting your fueling. I’d be looking at fuel correction. Closed loop ecus will pull fuel if things go rich and vise versa. If you don’t need the extra fuel leave the tune alone and let the ecu correct and let the water/meth cool the charge. That way if the meth kit fails the ecu will add the fuel back automatically. Keeps things safe and sound. Just my 2 cents. Great info in this video either way.

ECM goes open loop under higher loads and WOT. Closed loop corrections won't make a difference once the boost comes in. AFRs are always worth noting when tuning.

i know its going to be hard on the road, but if you really want to see the effects you are going to need a longer pull, i found that on 500cc injectors on trackhawks i would need more injector to get enough cooling for them to not go into limp mode on the 1/2 mile
@ramtuff063 жыл бұрын
My question would be related to the ignition timing advance. Because your injecting more than normal fuel, would the advance need to be moved up 3-4 degrees (.86 vs .79). I would like you would loose power with just over enrichment. Doesnt help that it takes all day to change plugs on a z06 😩

Yes, and you can also do that because the injected fluid is cooling the combustion so you are less prone to detonation and getting added octane, so all of the reasons are reason to run more timing that is why Water/Meth injection is awesome!

I have a road course car. Mostly stock power. Very fast time attack car with aero and lots of tire, suspension blah blah. Problems i see are i can only run aboutt 40% ethanol before i start maxing fuel system. I run e to keep temps down. Car make 620-630 to the tire in good air. On track Probably 550 to 600 wheel in the heat. I do a tire warm up lap and then a flyer then cool down. Im wondering if I could use a water meth kit to keep it cool and still run 40%e without tuning. Is there enough effect not to tune if full throttle for a long periods of time? If if so will you sell me everything i need? Can install no problem. I dont dare use to supplement fuel system as im doing a cam, big bore hpfp and injectors when i do a 2650r but i have a big race coming up in November, little over a month out that i could win and would be huge. Keeping full power for a lap or even two would be huge.

does the snow performance chart work for diesel nozzle sizing?

do we still wanna target 10.5-11 for afr when injection begins ? my tuner has been trying to dial in my meth on my 300hp,21psi mini and I'm running a #1 nozzle only.. I'm running a stage 2x snow kit so what would you suggest the 1st and 2nd injection point begin? would say stafe 1 start @ 9psi abd stage 2x @ 15psi ??? and then add extra timing in the tune for spefic boost ??
@smittys19daytona Жыл бұрын
even though it wasn't a big change after hitting boost, with no WI wouldn't you normally have seen a big spike in heat so it did the job of maintaining temps. ? looking to install in a diesel app mostly looking for the cleaning effect since soot and EGR BS is the worst thing for them
@GoatRopeGarage Жыл бұрын
Yeah, you can run a small nozzle and get a big temp change. You get finishing results after a point.
@ChaseChristensen82 жыл бұрын
Are you not worried about putting water through your blower? Most people suggest running straight meth since water isn’t compressible, meaning it could mess up the blower pretty bad if enough of it makes it to the rotor pack.
@GoatRopeGarage2 жыл бұрын
The big thing is the volume of spray versus the amount of air you’re flowing, you’re talking a small percentage of liquid in a huge volume of air.

When are you going to do a part 2 to this? I recently put meth on my car and while it is doing much better all around, I'd love to get some help from someone that knows more than me! KZbin is seriously my only way to get any help!

Come on homie .....man up and run 100% M1 like i do ....... In a good 8-15 sec pull mine drops 30+ deg
@edwardgomez3523 жыл бұрын
100% M1 does not cool better than 50/50. Water cools better than methanol. Only run 100% if you need the additional fuel or if your IATs are not that high and you want a lower flash over point.
@GoatRopeGarage3 жыл бұрын
If I had been running full M1 my house would of burned down because when the truck caught fire the W/M line melted and was pouring on the floor, luckily the 50/50 mix kept it from lighting off and getting completely out of hand.
