No matter what song they play, you can always hear Akane's drums so crisp and clean, without being overbearing. This doesn't always seem to be the case with other bands.

Except for the bass this is one of the most '80s glam metal songs I heard from them. Musically and lyrically: Jumpin' so high Into the fire If you get in the way, burn it out Fight till I die It's all or nothing That's so '80s and I love it

Fate was my favorite song up until Manners came out. Every time it comes around on my truck's CD player I crank the volume to just under 'sounds like crap distortion' and in any weather other than rain I roll the window down so I can share it with as many people as I can.

Our genius maid rocking hard, Kanami is a great guitar player and her solos are always very interesting. IMO her style is completly her own. She runs some cool scales at times :-)

@@GaryHolloway-810 Last time I counted, I had 70 fav songs. But I have listened to remaining 40+ songs only 2-3 times. As you know, some songs gradually grow on. Different took 6 times listening before it became my fav song. So I will eventually have 115+ fav songs😁

FATE, great song. Old good southern rock vibes. Band Maid has a bunch of great groovy songs, Freezer, FATE, Manners, Dragon Cries, Chemical Reaction... no style of rock music is off their radar.

'fate' is the lovechild of rhcp's version of 'higher ground' and pantera's 'walk', or at least that's the vibe i get from this heavy track. and it was interesting that you described a guitar segment as a 'walking' riff. you can also define the modes as the pattern of each of the whole notes in the western musical scale, i.e. c to b = ionian to locrian. and since you've touched the modes, i think i heard minor locrian; could be wrong though. i dare not touch the guitar when it comes to these ladies' music. another very informative video. thank you for the new analysis.

It's great that you're going through something different from the girls. World Domination album was the fan favorite before Unseen World was released, but Conquerer is an underrated album with hidden gems such as Wonderland, Mirage, etc. I think you'll find Why Why Why and Giovanni from Unseen World very interesting, too. I've seen the live video. Shadow John reacted to it. One cool fact is the backing vocals are being done by both Miku and Kanami. The harmonies are all 3 part which is rare for BAND-MAID!

Lots of flatted 5ths to give it that bluesy feel. But yeah, she also writes a lots of harmonic minor changes, especially in choruses. That "5 dominant 7th"chord gives it a neo-classical tinge so prevalent in metal. Long live the Maids.

Unlike real existence, fate is structurally somewhat different to other band-maid songs. I know this isn't written by Kanami so it kinda makes sense. I like the groove of this song.

Ah, "Fate." This might be my least favorite Band-Maid song. The "Heys" feel haphazard and derivative, and the chorus just doesn't hook me. Music is subjective, so I certainly won't begrudge anyone who can find a way to jam to this. But it's not for me. Intro to the guitar solo is cool though.
