Imo, Storm is the most caring, understanding, sympathetic and empathetic character on Krakoa. When kate died, she showed she was angry at first, of course going through the steps of grief. She displayed love and empathy for her kitten. Also when asked by Callisto to help her in regaining her powers back in the Crucible. Storm at first did not want to participate in it, but ultimately came through for her friend and battled Callisto and came through for her. Causing the final blow and as Callisto laid lifeless in Storm's arms, the Princess starts to cry and the elements cried with her. So much so that the area was evacuated. Storm is the heart and soul of the X-Men. Sometimes I feel she is neglected by others on the island. She deserves to be loved and respected. Imo, if she is leaving the Marauders book, perhaps she should be with the man that truly loves, respects and sees her for who she truly is and that's the Black Panther aka King T'Challa. But it's Disney so I won't hold my breath. Also did anyone see the Mural Alex Ross did for Marvel? Why was Black Panther and Storm so far apart in the work? Reed and Susan were near each, Cyclops and Jean damn near hugged up, also Blackbolt and Medusa were close. I'm just saying, it seemed odd to me. Considering Princess Ororo and King T'Challa were teenage sweethearts and were married for years and are still in love with each other. Still a nice work of art. Just a little tone deaf imo.

It would almost seem like some writers don't believe black love is not sustainable. Maybe they are also influenced by the media which shows a substantial division between the black man and black woman. I hope the comics can make a better positive picture of love in the black race.

I can't help but feel what Nightcrawler is seeing in Krakoa is what Sue Storm was worried about (Damn Slott hurry up and re-mutantify Franklin) so it wouldn't surprise me if Nightcrawler goes and tries to see Krakoa from other people's perspective without judgement. Legion probably has seen it from a lot of people's perspective, hundreds even... You get it.

The flippancy of Mutant interactions with Death was bound to bring about a more sinister existential presence. Legion was always a character that walked a line in the mutant world that said "You are too unpredictable with your powerset and history buttt we also don't know how to deal with you" that never really achieved a status like Apocalypse (while also managing to produce some of the most terrifying possibilities that reverberate to this day, like Age of Apocalypse and the characters from that timeline that still exist in the current one). I've always loved Legion as a potential that has never been fully achieved and I hope, now that Apocalypse, the Shadow King and other Mutants that are threats have been effectively nullified as options, Legion can step into that role as a real if bombastic and multi-faceted threat that Krakoa will have to repeatedly contend with.

I really like that they are calling out some of the problems with this society. One interesting element was using the word "sapien" as an insult, in a hall dedicated to the worst things mutants have done, in a the headquarters of a cult of mutant haters, showing mutants are inching closer tobecoming what they fought. If you don't think that was intentional in a book where Magneto preaches a corrupted version of Xavier's dream in front of a graven image of himself dressed in red with horns, and kind rebellious fellow goes up a villain corrupting people with the name of a biblical demon... I have a bridge to sell you.

100% agree with you. I was really started to get turned off from the X-books, because of how easily people were going along with this bonkers society. So much of it seems like It seems like they have been backsliding as a society through this whole thing; ritualistic combat, Scarlet Witch (who the X-Men know was manipulated by Dr. Doom) being being mentioned and them acting like it is literally a cursed word, no elected officials, etc.. This feels like it's going to be incredibly thought-provoking. I've always liked Kurt Wagner as a character, and him get his own place where he gets to be put to the forefront is always cool. Seeing nightcrawler create a religion from mutants should be very very interesting considering his past as a priest, if anyone is able to create a new religion on Krakoa and possibly even undo the need for The crucible, it's him. While I've always understood why The crucible exist, if anything cheapens death it's that existing at all. I understand that the mutants who are depowered have to die in order to get their powers back, but going through a weird gladiatorial sacrifice, while looking extremely cool, when you really think about it seems like some unnecessary bloodshed.

@yedo85163 жыл бұрын
I'm a bit late to these comments. But the irony is, the Crucible isn't even necessary. It's there due to the principle of it. Polaris, up until her first death in X-Factor, was actually a depowered mutant. She was depowered during M-Day. After being depowered, she was experimented upon by Apocalypse and became his next Horseman of Pestilence. She exhibited new powers that involved the combination and alteration of viruses and contagions. After Apocalypse was kidnapped by the Celestials, Polaris was healed and rehabilitated. She no longer exhibited her Pestilence powers and suddenly received her original mutant abilities back. The explanation was that the celestial technology implanted in Polaris's neck, the Pestilence seed, reinvigorated her dormant X-gene. So in reality, Apocalypse has the means to bring powers back to depowered mutants without them having to die. Marrow is also a similar case. She was also depowered from M-day, but received a power amp after going through experimentation by the villain Volga. Cable made the comment that Marrow was still not technically a mutant--but that plot remained unaddressed. As far as I know, M-day didn't really change Mutants into humans. It just rendered their X-genes dormant. If that's the case, I really don't see what's stopping from Sinister and the rest of Krakoa from developing a process that allows mutants to regain their powers without having to be resurrected. I get that there is value in pushing depowered mutants to prove that they deserve their powers. But at the same time, they lost their powers through no fault of their own. Their powers were stolen from them by the Scarlet Witch. That makes them victims.

I feel like the have some really good potential for Lost if they do want her to be in more stories. Her design seems really cool & unique, her gravity powers are interesting (particularly the potential ways zero gravity could be utilized in a multitude of situations as well as how they could possibly augment/hone her abilities), and her feelings/actions so far seem fairly reasonable (as in Nightcrawler would probably be one of my first few picks in the Crucible next to Storm and I'd be feeling pretty torn up after accidentally making everyone around me throw up after getting my powers back). : )

The concept of legion is good. I never really liked how he looked but the idea of powers with each personality i liked. I still think that whole crucible thing is a bit unnecessary and showy. You can't change human or rather mutant nature, some people just aren't fighters and powers or not that's just the way it is...also I'm wondering just how much are on the resurrection list? Does it have like the entirety of those wiped out on genosha as data?? It'd make sense if there's that kind of a waiting list, so that resurrection isn't easy because otherwise how often do people realistically die? In the past people weren't just dying left and right why would it suddenly change?

While I wanted mutants to eventually start fighting other mutants, I don't care too much about the revelation that The Patchwork Man is actually Legion (which was obvious when Xavier started seeing pictures of his past). It kind of gives me "Amon" (from the Legend of Korra) vibes. While I think Legion is a great concept for a mutant (being the Omega-level son of Xavier), I don't think his Dissociative Identity Disorder (Multiple Personality Disorder) has ever been properly portrayed (whereas they've done a better job w/ Rogue in her more recent stories). Like Daken, he's just played as "the dangerous X-kid" who's "bratty" because of his "daddy issues" & nothing more. I just find it odd how the friends of other precogs such as Preview, Destiny, Tarot, or Blindfold don't really seem to mind that they're MIA (sans Mystique & now Legion). Not to mention that there hasn't been a argument to bring the precogs back & just bar them from completing the crucible to regain their powers.

Crucible isn't always a slaughter fest. It's helped Callisto and Aero feel whole again. I also don't really care if death has become meaningless for mutants. Let's face it, considering how much everyone has died and come back, it had already become meaningless before the resurrection protocols. I also don't care about Legion, he's just too crazy and powerful for me. Glad everyone's enjoying but this just isn't for me.
