About The Museum of Classic Chicago Television:
The MCCTv (FuzzyMemoriesTV) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose primary mission is the preservation and display of off-air, early home videotape recordings (70s to early 80s, mostly) recorded off of TV (in Chicago or other cities now too); things which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally. If you have any old 1970s videotapes recorded off of TV please email: tapes@fuzzy.tv Even though (mostly) short clips are displayed here, we preserve the entire broadcasts in our archives - the complete programs with breaks (or however much is present on the tape), for historical preservation. For information on how to help in our mission, to donate or lend tapes to be converted to digital, please e-mail tapes@fuzzy.tv Thank you for your help!

I think that school strike lasted until the early part of October of '87. It's great watching newscasts from way back when.

Man, Jerry Falwell predicting the imminent arrest of Jim Baker. Was there some kind of rivalry between them? Usually you don't air a Peer's dirty laundry. Lol

Look up the PTL scandal...basically, Falwell wanted PTL's cable TV network for himself and used that very un-Christian move to achieve that goal...only to bail about a year later.

I have a Dallas recording from this very date, but not Beauty and the Beast, which would then be followed by the late local news. In my case, this would be WJBK off 🇨🇦 cable.

I now know what the elders meant, during my youthful years, when they said, "those were the days". This was an"AIR" by WBBM Channel 2 CBS Local News. With the exception to Anchor person Mrs.Wallace,I remember Bill Curtis, The late Walter Jacobson and the Weatherperson Harry Volkmam. If memory serves me, these personnel were about the same time as Carol Marin,Marianne (sp?) Childers and Jay Levine. Lester Holt started later. Now, the commentary of the Late Walter Jacobson was as powerful as the Late Rush Limbaugh. Like E.F. HUTTON,when Mr.Jacobson spoke, you listened.

Yes I did. It sounds better through my headphones than through the speakers. Hoping an accident wasn't going to happen, but if it did it would give Ms. Wallace two big stories to cover. Classic indeed.

Er . . . there was a famous news anchor on a CBS O&O station who truly WAS on coke - and booze, and Valium - during this period: Jim Jensen, on WCBS Channel 2 in New York City. His on-air demeanor by this time was raising eyebrows and whispers about whether he was on something. Went really downhill after longtime co-anchor Rolland Smith left the station in late 1986 to prepare for the ill-fated "Morning Program" with Mariette Hartley.
