We have stayed here a few times. I am by no way "classy". But, I did have that "do I belong here?" feeling. Then I realized, I do belong here, because I paid to be here. And I quickly dismissed those inadequate feelings I had. We save for our vacation and want good service, easy access to MK for our (now 4 year old) child, and an overall upscale atmosphere. Its a huge treat if we get to stay here. Bottom line, it's a hotel for anyone and everyone.

+Debbie Cullen lol we stayed there me the wife and son 9 at the time,was January this yr,same thing,we had that same feeling do we belong here but like you said we paid to be there,was a very amazing experience we stayed at club level and OMG loved it,first time we stayed there only 2 days but the best 2 days ever,was there for a month stayed on Canada drive at a lovely hotel which been going to for the last 10 yrs,but the GF was sooo impressive..a hotel for anyone and every one like you say ...

If I stay at the Grand Floridian I usually only reserve the grand suite room 4001, the one that Princess Diana stayed in. Anything else just doesn't seem adequate when I'm there.

Wow I love the Grand Floridian Cafe. I always order the pasta and its delicious! I have been numerous times in the past few years and I have always had good experiences with it. As with the counter-service food, I love the Disney counter service food and it is always great. I love the chicken nuggets!

Grand Flo is definitely a step above the rest. it may seem intimidating at first but as soon as you meet the friendly and super professional cast members that all goes away. I encourage everyone visiting WDW to at least check it out at least one time. you wont be disappointed.

I've always wondered what the Grand Floridian looked like but had never been able to actually go and have a look, unlike I did with many of the other resorts. This video has filled that need and made me want to go even more :) xx

CP's definitely work at the Grand. Last year, my roommate worked there during our program in merchandise and she had a ton of CP friends who had different roles throughout the resort. Hospitality and Concierge are more coveted and hard to get roles as a CP so you're not going to find as many of them at check in. Those roles are more for ICP, Professional Interns, and then those cast members with seniority.

I love this hotel! One thing that I would love to add is that there is the Pirate Cruise that is great for boys. I have to say that my boys love the Polynesian however. This is great for mommy and daddy to do on their own. Love it!

FYI, I was on the crew of "Family Matters" and when WE did a two-parter at WDW, our base hotel for the crew AND the family/characters was Wilderness Lodge, not GF.

I love the GF cafe......best Cobb salad ever, and the burgers are really good too, so my hubby tells me.

I have to disagree on one aspect of your report and that is with the Grand Floridian Cafe. I have always had an amazing meal there and the service is amazing! The last time I was there was October 2014 and I had a great Creamy Mushroom Soup and the Grand Floridian Burger. That Burger is so good it should be illegal. It was one of the best meals I have ever had at Disney.

The DIS thank you for these reviews. Living in France, even if I often go to Disneyland Paris, going to WDW is a big event. We are planning a WDW trip for late 2016 or early 2017. This is a life dream. We're going to stay at a moderate resort, I think the Riverside, your review about this resort helped me a lot. We are also looking for information about WDW intimate wedding. There are 3 wedding locations for intimate wedding, one at the Wilderness Lodge, one at the Polynesian Village and one at the Grand Floridian. I'd like to know which one you would choose for this event. Thank you very much. Excuse my English.

I agree about the level of service at the GF........however, Kidani Village at Animal Kingdom is on par with the GF in my opinion.

Hi guys. I am a big fan of the dis. My wife, 2 kids and I have been coming to Disney for the last few years. We have been tuning into your shows to get your insights into resorts, attractions and dining options. Here a question for you. We always use the Disney dining plan and use the two table service credits for one night of our vacation (special offers casino). For example we have dined at the Yachtman Steakhouse, The Flying Fish, California Grill and LeCellier. All were brilliant in terms of food and ambiance. We will be going to Disney next year and would like to include one 2 table service credit meal. We would love to dine at the Grand Floridian and have reviewed both Citricos and Narcosses. Both get very good reviews. We can only do one. Any suggestions? Note: I have two teenage daughters and they like getting dressed up for dinner. Any sf ice on which restaurant greatly appreciated. FYI, the Del Coronado was, in the day, the LARGEST all-wooden building in the WORLD. HOWEVER, the inside is all mahogany and wonderful dark wood carving and detail. I suspect one of the reasons the Grand is NOT that way is that it is easier to do white painted "anywood" than expensive hard woods, plus the craftsmanship of the old world is just plain gone nowadays.

I have to slightly disagree with Pete with his take on a dress code. I go to all kinds of restaurants when we travel, weather it's Orlando or otherwise. I know nearly any nice restaurant will say no halters, tank tops, etc. That pretty much goes without saying. But to say no hats and no flip flops; THAT'S a dress code. Might not be a strict dress code, but it's a dress code nonetheless. I wear nice flip flops a lot on summer vacations, so I would want to know that. I think that was the point Jenny Lynn was trying to make, and a valid point at that.

I am currently visiting WDW and (having a few non-park days to myself) decided to visit many of the resorts - just to see. Grand Floridian was beautiful and...well, grand. But all the people with their feet up on the tables or actually sleeping in the lobby (waiting for a trip to the airport)...YUCK! >>That is NOT a minus to the resort; it's a knock to the clientele.

I have to say that the big drawback for me with this resort are the guests who think they own the place. I was so frustrated seeing parents letting their kids run amok, a wedding party leaving their trash on the stairs. The CM's were great, however, attitude-y vibes from some guests.
