The voice of *Supreme Leader Snoke* is done by Andy Serkis. The same man who brought us the voices of Caesar in "The Planet of the Apes" franchise and many others including his most iconic voice work as Golem and Smeagol in "The Lord of the Rings" saga. Serkis is also a great actor in front of the camera and does a phenomenal performance as Ulysses Klaue in "Black Panther".

I love how y'all see the juxtaposition between Kylo struggling with the light and Rey struggling with the dark. You also got how the folly of the jedi in a way was their perfectionism. Sometimes you have to make the choice to follow the light because we all have darkness within us. It doesn't just happen. People expect Luke to be some golden hero who never failed after episode 6, but that's just not how us humans work. You can still ultimately make the choice to to the right thing, and become a hero, in the end, despite your failures. 💖

The cute creatures on the island are Porgs and they were created to replace the actual puffins in real life. Kylo's saber crackles, because he cracked the kyber crystal while bleeding it red. Maul also got chopped in half by saber (and somehow lived). The Holdo maneuver was epic in theaters.

What about this movie makes you mad? i think Luke was mistreated because i have this picture in my head of older Luke being a calm, wise Jedi, the interpretation we had of older Luke in the comics, videogames, etc, but apart from that it doesn't feel that different than other SW films, apart from the Marvel-esque quips, that is.

1:39:04 to 1:39:06 - Hmm... Looking back on that quote, it reminds me of what Sirius said to Harry in Prisoner of Azkaban. "The ones who love us never really leave us." 1:39:26 to 1:39:30 - That was unscripted, believe it or not. Everybody hardly acknowledged Threepio, so Mark thought Luke stopping to acknowledge the Protocol droid would be a nice little moment. And y'know what? It is. Hell, I'd have done that, too, if I were him. Though now that I think about it, I feel like Anakin was acting through Luke in that moment. Anakin DID build him, after all. I dunno. I agree with a lot of people that Luke's history with Ben/the flashback could have been at least presented better. I'm not against the idea of what happened, but if they had done more showing and less telling about how disillusioned Luke had already become and what terrible stuff he saw that Ben was willing to do I feel like it would have gone over better and wouldn't have read to people as "Luke just tried to kill him". Despite that, we literally got the best Luke moment at the end of the movie when he uses the Force for knowledge and defense and never for attack, becoming in my opinion the most powerful and most good Jedi there has ever been. Luke had to learn of the Order's failures in the Prequels, become disillusioned and question them in order to come out stronger on the other side. His hope and belief in Jedi teachings had to be challenged to prove it was real and not just born out of ignorance. That's how I view it, anyway. I still get chills watching Luke walk out onto the salt flats to face down the walkers.

I don’t know the answer but I had assumed it too was also a projection or an echo of a different lightsaber. You’re right, it would have made more sense to see the green Return of the Jedi saber, unless it was destroyed or something in the time between 6 and 8. Throughout the films we see that our guys can’t seem to keep up with their lightsabers.🤷‍♂️

A lot of people say that in the TLJ Luke is out of character compared to the originals. Shall we play a game of Spot the Differences? Scene A, throne room ROTJ. 1. Luke goes to "confront" his father because he sees light in him and wants to help. 2. At some point he realises Vader poses an immediate threat to someone he loves. (If you will not turn to the Dark Side... then perhaps she [Leia] will!). 3. Luke goes on attack mode and ignites his saber. Scene B, Ben's hut TLJ. 1. Luke goes to "confront" his nephew/padawan because he sees darkness in him and wants to help. 2. At some point he realises Ben poses an immediate threat to someone he loves. (He would bring destruction and pain and death, and the end of everything I love because of what he will become). 3. Luke goes on attack mode and ignites his saber. Can you spot the differences in Luke? I'll go first. Difference No1: In the throne room Luke lets his rage take over and attacks Vader until he cuts his hand off. Then and only then he realises what he's doing and stops himself. In Ben's hut he doesn't attack. He stops himself BEFORE striking Ben. Difference No2: ...I can't find another one.

Well, the fans were split 50/50 on it. If anything it showed how many subjective reasons people like Star Wars and how many different ways there are to read into it. I feel like it was The Rise of Skywalker that really did it in, you could tell all the actors and crew were just tired and didn't really care anymore by that point. It didn't have anything to say, any reason to exist besides "Well, we gotta make a third one, I guess." Really depressing way to supposedly 'end' Star Wars.

The things that bother a lot of star wars fans about this film never bothered me. Luke having Trauma over failing Kylo Ren I really like, so Luke gets a redemption arc in this film. The things that I find annoying about this film are the side adventure to the Casino planet, which mostly just messes up the pacing of the story.
@jesussantos7380
@jesussantos7380 10 сағат бұрын
The problem with Luke's trauma over failing Kylo is that it makes no sense for him to fail him. He spends all of ROTJ arguing with everyone that Vader has good in his heart, and Vader has done much, much worse than Kylo. And in the end, he's right. Vader is good at heart. So...why would he forget all that with his best friend's son? His sister's son? When he argues with Ben and Yoda for Vader's life, he sacrifices himself and refuses to strike his father down in front of the Emperor. I'm not saying this could never happen, but it just comes out of nowhere, which is why most people say this movie assassinated Luke's character...because it objectively did. He has a redemption arc that's semi-decent, but he never needed redemption to begin with because his character in the previous films would never do something like this.

I'm glad you enjoyed it but this movie is ASS...and so is it's director. This movie broke the fandom......and my brain. Shout out to George Lucas and REAL Star Wars. Not Kathleen Kennedy and (C)Rian (for having a small) Johnson

The fandom was actually broken by fans who believe there is such a thing as correct and incorrect opinions. Without such fans, this movie would still have been very controversial, and a lot of folks would still have disliked or even hated it, but the fandom would not have been fouled up by the immense toxicity that it was.

After all these years, this movie still sucks. Rian Johnson never did his homework.

Rian Johnson directed this, my favorite film of the Skywalker Saga. I loved how the Force Lore was expanded, similar to how The Empire Strikes Back expanded Force powers. I wish they had opened on Canto Bight instead of beginning with that silly Poe Dameron trolling the Dreadnought Captain.

The last jedi makes me feel physically sick. Awful movie so many ridiculous plot points. Will go down in history as the worst star wars movie.

This comment makes you look like an idiot. That hate has died. The Last Jedi is cemented as a top tier Star Wars film by real fans.

Honest I don't like this movie; a lot of wasted potential, abandoned plot points, pacing, being unsure of what type of movie it wants to be.

so crazy how split the fandom is over this film. personally, i love it and it's actually the only prequel or sequel film i like besides Revenge of the Sith i think it's very important to see that even Luke Skywalker can fail. we ALL fail at different points in our life, multiple times. but Yoda's lesson about how we need to help the next generation learn from our mistakes is so important it's the next film that absolutely ruined the sequel trilogy, for me anyway. Disney was so scared about the half of the fandom that didn't like The Last Jedi that they let JJ Abrams make a movie that pretty much nobody liked
